Fire Engine Pizza offers vegan cheese for pizza, but not much else beyond that for vegans. That said, the vegan cheese on their pizza is usually quite good. I've had some inconsistent experiences but mostly positive. The crust is good. The staff are also either kind and courteous or just pushing through the day. Depends who you get. Again, largely positive experience here, but some staff get thrown off by requesting vegan cheese or questions about ingredients. The atmosphere is nice for families and individuals. There's a large wrap-around bar if you want to watch sports after work with buddies. But plenty of regular dining tables and separate dining spaces for families. They also have an old fire engine that has been converted into a food truck. It's usually parked outside. Great idea! I'd love to see Fire Engine lean into more vegan offerings more. Even just 1-2 more non-pizza options to start. Warning for those ordering through DoorDash, UberEats, or GrubHub: the cost of vegan cheese is severely overpriced on delivery apps, especially on apps where you add toppings by the half pizza. They charge like $4-5 per half. It's insane. If you order directly in the restaurant it's something like $4 for vegan cheese on the entire pizza. I think someone made an error when inputting the pricing or put it in based on a full pizza but did it per half by mistake. I've told the restaurant about it but nothing has been done.

So, I actually never rate places, but I do have to say that I was very happy with this place. I thought it was a just a pizza joint with a fire fighter novelty. Pizza was excellent AND it came out fast. Menu was way more than just bar food, and by the looks, just as good as the pizza. Will definitely return and order other items. BTW, staff was awesome too?

The pizza was some of the best I've had in CT. I need to go back when I'm a little more hungry to try dinner.

Yes, they have gluten-free pizza. Would I order it again? NO!!! Tasteless and blah. And it’s a $5 up charge.
Ordered Brussels sprouts. They’re breaded. Really?!?!
Server was nowhere to be found. Had my initial water, and that’s all I was offered. The server literally disappeared, and I paid my tab with a different server.
Dietary restrictions: If you need/desire GF, be prepared to pay dearly for a 10” pizza.

Fire Engine Pizza offers an elevated pizza restaurant experience with appropriately themed decor and a good size bar.
Their vegan pizza offerings are satisfactory, but the flavor is good! I just wish the vegan cheese upcharge wasn't the same as buying a full bag of shredded vegan cheese from the grocery store ($8). It's cheaper on smaller pizza but it's still outrageous.
The service varies a bit. Some staff are really on top of things and know the menu well, while others are deer in the headlights when taking an order.
I enjoy the fire engine theme and having a nice pizza place to visit that isn't a fast casual place, although you can do takeout if you want and the service is faster than sitting at a table. Great for families, those looking to watch sports at a bar, or get food on the go!
Dietary restrictions: Vegan cheese is available for a very high upcharge. Menu does not clearly label allergens so be careful when ordering.

First time I ordered here, late at night mind you, after a long day's work hungry af. I will never order here again. I ordered a Pulled-Pork pizza with ninja pork... cuz I couldn't find it. Oh but it had bbq sauce! Waste of money. Oh yeah and burnt, lol.
