Not sure how this place is still open with the way they operate their business. They scam people so if you dine in you get a normal portion size but if you ever order for take out as my family did TWICE they give you what looks like someone else’s left overs. I was wrong to go back a second time after the first issue. Today I called my order in and the women asked me about my order three times and I clarified multiple times. When I showed up to pick it up I opened the bag because I had a terrible experience last time and it was missing one whole hibachi plate. They had me wait 10 mins to make the additional plate for my order. Once I got home I opened the bag and JUST LIKE LAST TIME what they did was open the one plate and split the salmon and steak to make the second order that they forgot!! I called in and spoke to “bow or Boa” who is apparently the owner and he was very rude and stated that it was pretty much ok they did that because they didn’t charge me for the plate that they forgot initially!! He then proceeded to text me rudely after I sent photos of the order telling to come pick up my money and to never return there again as if I would ever! Do not go to a place like this terrible customer service, dishonest and scammers charging full price and giving you crumbs!!!

My wife and I attempted to order hibachi takeout from here to give this place a second try on take out. My wife’s review is already on here and a response from the restaurant was given but clearly a unempathetic AI response. Their portion sizes are SIGNIFICANTLY smaller when you order take out. And when you ask about the sizes being smaller, they fully admit to them being way less than what you get when dining in person stating “yes we are aware and that’s just how we do our take out” almost as if there have been other people who have also complained. However, they were not willing to work with the customer, regardless of us explaining that you basically get 3-5 bites of noodles and rice in the takeout hibachi order. And it’s the exact same price in restaurant and via take out. It is completely wrong and taking advantage of the customer. Their response in the previous review speaks of how they weigh proteins, and give more variety in their veggies, when compared to other restaurants. But don’t let that fool you. They completely gyp you on the quantity of food for the price. And hopefully when they respond to this review they admit to their wrong doing and agree to change their take out quantity to match the restaurant experience.

Excellent

My girlfriend invited me out for my birthday lunch. We had broccoli & shrimp I had fried rice she had the brown. She had also sushi & a bowel of edamame salted. She drank ice tea. I drank a glass of Pepsi.

I called to do a takeout hibachi order. However I explained that their take out portion size the last time was significantly smaller than what you get in the restaurant. And I asked if there was anyway to get the same restaurant sized meal since I am ordering the exact same thing for the exact same price. The woman explained that they just do less amount on the take out food. I explained how the rice and noodles specifically are only a few bites give in these tiny bowls that should be for sauce/condiments. She said that’s all they can do. Pathetic to pay and order the exact same thing and then get less than half of the amount of foo for take out. Ended up going with a different hibachi take out and look at how much food I got at a different spot, one located right in Trumbull. Misimi is one of the best around it’s pretty sad that they fully admitted to giving significantly less amount of food for a take out order and then weren’t willing to fix their wrong doing. Attached is a photo of a different Trumbull veggie hibachi take out, seriously good portions. As much if not more than what you receive sitting and ordering at the restaurant.

Been here a bunch of times through various names and owners, gone way down hill the last few visits.

One of the worst waitresses we've had at a restaurant charging these prices, terrible greasy food (even by hibachi standards), and somehow still $200 for dinner for 5 (3 kid's meals) with nothing but entrees and two drinks for the adults. Will not be back again.

Unfortunate because this used to be a good spot.

PROS: Food (soups, sushi rolls, noodles, fried rice) was decent and fairly priced. Initial impression of atmosphere was rather nice too.

CONS: we ate there shortly before closing time, being done by about 9 pm. restaurant working hours end at 9:30 pm. However, already before 9 pm, waiters were ready to call it a day. I get it - it was a Sunday night, but they flat out started sweeping floors with a broom around our table. When asked if they really need to do that right then, they graciously said that it’s okey if we remained seated… Next they came in with a chemicals smelling dirty bucket of water and a mop…. atmosphere and service impression was ruined.
