Comparatively speaking about pubs in the area, this one is a good one. Good atmosphere. Nice staff. Decent apps. I just can't find a pub that is comfortable like in the real Irish style around the area. All that complaining aside, the pub on Howe looks good from the street and has a vibe that you can settle into.

Jake at the bar had a huge ego. I gave him minor feedback and his ego was an issue and ended up kicking me out. First time in my life that has ever happened. He charged me $17 for a martini and upcharged me and kicked me out after giving feedback. I just moved in the neighborhood and would NEVER come back. Bartender is too egotistical to give feedback too. Environment is toxic. Bartender is unable to create an enviorment where new customers are welcome. Bad ownership decision to keep someone like that will come back. Lost a consistent customer. Will never come back again unfortunately. 0/10. Location is great though. Sad excuse for a bartender.

Great pub, open super late. They have a lot of games for patrons, including pool and Jenga. Weekends are super busy even after 11 PM but servers are always attentive.

I recently moved to Shelton, Ct from Westchester, NY. A few of my neighbors in the building I live in (The Birmingham) and my wife recently have been frequenting The Pub on Howe. I would like to comment about the restaurant by saying:a) The owner, bartenders, and staff are down to earth, very polite, and extremely friendly.b) The food and drinks are not only delicious but also affordable!c) The back room/pool area is so much fun to spend a few hours chatting with the local patrons at the restaurant or spending quality time with friends/family!Love this local Pub and will definitely be spending a lot of time & money here ?Wheelchair accessibility: ADA Compliant

Thought the pub was a super cool place that my husband and I stopped by during our Christmas trip to CT! We wanted to be able to watch the football games on Christmas Eve and there were limited places open that had NFL ticket, but the pub was one of them! There were a couple of other guests in there at the time, but not many. To our surprise, most of them were Packers fans like us! The service was speedy and helpful. The bartender gave us recommendations for apps based on our preferences and handed us a Sunday/football special menu that had both drinks and apps on it. We got the zucchini fries and loved them! They were crispy and filled with cheese. Some marinara dipping sauce on the side too. Definitely hit the spot. Would come back when in the area for a laid back game day.

Nice place in downtown Shelton where the locals hang out. Good,old-fashioned bar as you walk in. Greeted by the bartender. The other side is the sports/game room. Several screens for football Sunday! Good pub style menu with sandwiches, nachos. Outdoor seating for warmer weather. Check it out. Good place.

Went yesterday for some beers and to watch some football. This place is great. Nice crowd, friendly and attentive staff. They have buckets of beers, great deal 4 domestic beers for 12$. We also had the pub nachos, they were so good. Lots of cheese on all of the nachos, the chile was very good. We will definitely be back!!!

I've lived in Shelton for a while now but my first visit to The Pub on Howe was this past weekend. Me and my husband took my out-of-state dad for a drink and a quick bite. When we arrived there were dirty tables and drinks spilled on the floor at that table which hadn't been cleaned up yet. Only one gal was bartending and waiting the tables. She was nice enough but you could tell she was overwhelmed. Food and drinks took a while to come out. The food was "ok" - nothing great. The reason I suggested this establishment is because of the Insta posts I see of beautiful-looking food items. That is not what we received though. My Rueben was tasty and the corned beef was fresh-sliced brisket but it was very messy and not nicely presented. The zucchini sticks and poppers were fine, just frozen then fried fresh. I'm glad I finally tried The Pub but I'm afraid I won't return as there was nothing there that thrilled me.

They have delicious crinkle fries, similar to the ones that Porky used to sell before they lost their way. Only issue is, they are $7, and the basket is pretty small. Wings were descent, they are big in size, but not as good as porkys wings.

Tried to go there couple of times third time we gave up the door was closed but there were people inside it was 1130 at night and it stated online it closes at 1 am. It’s weird.

Found myself hungry in Shelton and didn't know where to go but I liked the open-ness I saw here when I walked by! They have a table with stools facing the street and a side patio where you can sit or play pool further back but still enjoy a nice weather day! Staff was super sweet and attentive - I asked if they could do a grilled cheese and they went above and beyond for me. I am also kind of a fry snob and these were A+ ! Can't wait to stop by again soon!
