Food is authentic Cajun cuisine, and made fresh. Loved every dish I had! Drink choices were great. Everything was perfect! The waitstaff was very friendly and treated us like family. We will be back many more times to try all the amazing dishes and drinks!! This is definitely a place to check out!!

Well our experience started out well. Had a little jazz band playing out front. Only 3 tables in the place had people at them. We started off ordering an appetizer of the voodoo roll. It was nice and crunchy but that was the best part. The filling was mushy overcooked rice and cheese. Well we ordered the sampler platters one was the app portion and the other was the dinner portion. It took close to 45 min for them to come out then had to send them back as 5 of the seven were cold. Mind you they are all pre-made and just need to be warmed up to start with. ( so why 45 min and why cold still) Now once we were able to eat finally, the corn chowder was the best out of all. The jambalaya was dry the etouffee was goopy and so spicy buy yet bland in flavor, the gumbo was just alright. The shrimp and grits was goopy and bland. The poor waitress was running the whole restaurant plus bartending. We saw another server or someone from the kitchen don't really know what his job was but kept apologize for the slow kitchen service. Every table there recieved apologies and or compensation in some way for the poor kitchen service. This place need to get its act together and fast or they won't be open long.

Everywhere else it's just Tuesday but at Roux Cajun eatery it's a taste of New Orleans and Mardi Gras.Start your journey to New Orleans right here in Connecticut. With authentic Cajun cuisineAlso you definitely have to order the hurricane cocktail!!!!One of my favorite things to eat while I'm down in Florida is alligator bites, so I am very excited to have them here in Connecticut and they tasted just as good when you go down south. We had voodoo rolls along with freshly made chips. From the bar menu They had all varieties of PoBoysOf course a good Cajun jambalaya. Sausage and chicken and rice along with the Cajun spices. Also had Crawfish Etouffee I must say it was my first time ever having this and it was just absolutely delicious. And of course we finished off our meals with the dessert with King Cake and Beignets

Super friendly owner (Stephanie and her husband) food was on point. My daughter had the chicken and waffles with bourbon maple syrup (an absolute must) and I had the gumbalya (gumbo over jambalya). The chicken was moist and tender with a tasty coating that paired really well with the waffles that tastes almost cake batter esque. Add the syrup and it was a touchdown. My gumbalaya was fantastic as well. Full bar with a creative cocktail menu both alcoholic and non alcoholic. Beer list was extensive as well.Finished it off with a couple of beignets and left with full stomachs without feeling bloated. Liked it so much we went back the next day for lunch. Real cajun food in Simsbury with great people. What more can you ask for? Highly recommend and will be back whenever we’re in town.

Kid-friendliness: Kids will be fine here. Fun atmosphere and a good menu.

My partner and I thoroughly loved this place. We were looking for mocktails and gluten free food, and this was definitely the place to go. The owner has celiac, so the majority of the menu can be made gluten free or is already. They have a dedicated gf fryer as well, so I could have things like chicken tenders and fried pickles without worrying about cross contamination. We sat outside, which was gorgeous and the patio is nice, cute and clean. We had a great time and the server (her son) was very nice, personable, and friendly. Beautiful little place and we can't wait to head back! Pictured: fried gf pickles, non-alcoholic drinks, gf tenders and regular jambalaya!

Dietary restrictions: SO MANY gluten free options!!! Totally safe environment and separate fryer too!

We sat inside, there floor was torn up, just bare with leftover tile glue, we ordered 2 mixed drinks served them in a timber that was only half full of margarita and mostly ice and full price in the drinks this was a disappointment, we wanted to start with their fried okra they did not have, moved on to jambalaya was ok still no okra, onion soup was very salty, I've had better, friends had their hamburger said it was good. The first dessert we requested, again not available. This was a Friday night I would have thought they'd be prepared for the weekend hot coffee was ordered and was served cold

I went to Roux to celebrate my 44th birthday and it did not disappoint! There was a jazz duo playing keyboard and trumpet when we got there. They have an extensive drink menu as well as zero proof drinks! I'm not a drinker so that was a nice touch I really appreciated!I had a Coconut Lavender Lemonade, the homemade biscuits and honey butter, the C&D Debris Poboy (roast beef and au jus on a poboy roll straight from New Orleans!) with Cajun seasoned fries and strawberry cream cake for dessert. To say I was satisfied is an understatement! The whole staff came to sing Happy Birthday to me and we sat talking to the owners Stephanie and Vic for quite awhile! It's a wonderful experience!

Dietary restrictions: I had a member of my party with a shellfish allergy. She told the waiter and the owner and they assured her that they have a separate fryer for for just seafood and a separate fryer just for gluten free as well!

Went for brunch on Sunday - incredible spot. Biscuits and sausage gravy were excellent. Well balanced. Also had cafe au lait for the first time, super tasty coffee beverage. Peach bellini went down real easy. We will definitely be back, what a great find. Did I mention the biscuits and sausage gravy?

Went for lunch , not again and I can’t believe I paid for it! Really ? Ordered a salad for lunch with shrimp. The salad was $15.00 the salad came in a side salad size.really? $15.00, ya it had 4 average size shrimp, no Cajun seasoning I could taste. Tasted my sister’s chicken tenders, they were not cooked , sent back , again not Cajun flavor. Wait staff gave us an empty catsup bottle…think someone might need to go back to LA and revisit the flavors.

I am from Louisiana and this is the first restaurant in the northeast that I have found makes actual authentic Louisiana favorites! The red beans are spot on as well as the jambalaya. The gumbo was a little bland but overall still a very good gumbo. They also have Abita root beer which has been a perpetual favorite of mine but so hard to find up north. The have something for every possible taste of Louisiana you can imagine. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. 10 out of 10 recommend if you are looking for authentic Louisiana food made fresh and served hot!

Great atmosphere. The bartender owner has a great personality. Food is excellent. If you are willing to try a drink let the bartender make you one. His mixology is amazing.
