My first visit to this restaurant was a delightful surprise orchestrated by my husband for my birthday. We were seated upstairs, but upon exploring downstairs to the tavern area, we immediately decided that our next visit would definitely be spent there. Recently, I organized a girls' night out and made a reservation for the tavern, and it exceeded all expectations.The evening kicked off with a perfectly crafted dirty martini that set the tone for what was to come. The wine selection by the glass offered an array of choices, which was greatly appreciated. Our meal selections were varied yet equally impressive: I opted for the salmon with risotto, Rachel savored their chicken dish, Danielle indulged in the burger, while Dev enjoyed the flatbread. Our appetizer of Brussels sprouts was nothing short of exquisite.Throughout the evening, our waiter provided impeccable service, always anticipating our needs before we even had to ask. I couldn't help but express to him that if the restaurant were closer than 25 minutes away, it would undoubtedly become our regular haunt. He was consistently attentive, ensuring our glasses were never empty and always being a few steps ahead of us.Overall, our experience at this restaurant, particularly in the tavern, was nothing short of spectacular. From the drinks to the cuisine to the exceptional service, it left a lasting impression, making it a place we'll eagerly return to whenever the opportunity arises.

My husband and I went there for a work dinner. The shrimp appetizer was amazing. Then there was my pork chop... excellent. Lastly was the bread pudding for dessert (I split that with my husband), a fine way to finish out my meal.

My wife was given a generous gift certificate to 2 Hopewell as a retirement gift from her manager. Thanks C! C loves this place. We haven't been to the location since it was the Parson's Daughter, so it was time. Before we got there, we both looked at the menu to get an idea of what to order. For me, there weren't a ton of options, as I am a picky eater - Beets? that's out, Brussel sprouts - same thing. Carbs - trying to control them. So I'm not easy. I didn't want the baby kale salad, and the second salad had beets, so I was stuck with the wedge salad. It would be nice if they had a spring greens or chopped salad as a choice, but choice proliferation leads to lower quality, so I get it. The wedge was great - nice bacon, tomatoes and blue cheese. My wife got the mushroom bread appetizer which was delightful. I tried it, but bread has carbs. Speaking of which the focaccia bread they is so good I violated my diet rules and actually had a piece. The olive oil dip served with it was outstanding. Note to chef - a favorite restaurant of ours serves focaccia with a herbed ricotta that is out of this world, and their focaccia is not a good as yours. Might be something to try. I ordered the pork chop and asked if I could substitute a different vegetable for the potatoes that normally come with the dish. The waitress offered 5+ options, and I settled on green beans. The pork chop with it's blistered tomato balsamic sauce was the best I have had. It was cooked perfectly to slightly pink and was very juicy - hard to accomplish. Another note to the chef - the green beans and carrots were undercooked to my taste - still a bit crunchy. My wife was able to substitute asparagus for Brussels sprouts and loved both that and her filet. She ordered a cheesecake dessert that was as good as we have had (and we have tried a lot of cheesecakes). It had something that seemed like a schmeer of butter cream icing on the plate, it was perfect, but really rich. I went rogue and had 2-3 bites of that as well, violating my diet rules. Regarding ambiance, we ate upstairs which was dark and quiet. I did check out the downstairs bar table seating area and that looks like it would be a more fun place to eat at the risk of maybe high noise at times. Definitely a place to go. It is as good a meal as we have had in recent years.
Stopped in for my birthday dinner after having friends recommend it for years. Great spot, say at the bar downstairs. Beautiful old building. Food was excellent and enjoyed the atmosphere, bartender was very friendly.
