If you enjoy your meal cooked and served in a timely manner this is not the place for you. Was excited to try this place on a rare date night with my wife,. We had a 7:15pm reservation by 7:55pm we were sharing the smallest mussel appetizer I have seen, that showed up without one of the best parts of a mussel appetizer, the crostini bread for dipping in the broth. Then at about 8:40pm we had to share an undercooked Steak Frites (ordered medium rare, showed up mostly raw ) because the salmon fried rice my wife order was so undercooked that it was raw (ordered it medium). You would assume that if it takes an hour and half to make my food that it would be overdone, but not here, here you wait forever for food that is not even cooked. If I could put negative stars I would.

Amazing food and atmosphere. In addition, they give back to the community! Well done, Mark and team.

Great service and food for a long lunch. Had the Buffalo cauliflower and roasted chicken. So good!

We've eaten here numerous times and this is the first time the service (or lack there of) warranted a review. We arrived around 6:30 p tonight (Saturday) and sat at the bar which was our intention. The bartender basically handed us menus, walked away and didn't say anything. No greeting whatsoever. We finally ordered drinks and had to get attention in order to put in an app order. Was able to get attention to place dinner order but that was the last time he acknowledged us. We had to ask bar back to refill waters and we were never asked if we wanted another drink. Again we had to get his attention for the bill and a to go box. Upon providing bill we never were asked how things were, if we needed anything or a given simple thank you. The food was very good as usual but the lack of service will prevent us from returning for quite some time.

The food here is very mediocre. I ordered a smash burger and it's definitely not what I received. The patty was thick and dry. It says they have gelato on their menu, but what we were given was basic ice cream you can grab from the freezer section in your local grocery store. And they charged $6 for it if I remember correctly...yeah, not cool. We also had to ask somebody else who wasn't our server to grab us butter for the bread because we didn't get any.

Very poor service. No sense of urgency. We waited 25 minutes after being seated for our waitress to address our group, and then our food didn’t come for another 40 minutes. My groups food came out, but my dish did not. By the time I received my food it was well over an hour. I ordered eggs benedict. The home fries were cold and the english muffin was not toasted. It tasted like dough and ruined the entire meal. I didnt send it back because I had already waited too long and people were finishing their meals at my table Others at my table also had cold home fries. Cold food is a no no. Very disappointing. Unless management rights this wrong, I will not be going back. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a restaurant in a long time.

Honestly cannot say enough good things. The waiters are a key to customer experience. Train them well and you will see customers retuned guaranteed. It helps for the food to be good which it is.

Went early around 4pm. Sat inside the bar. Not many people. The bartender immediately wasn't friendly. Wine list was very limited and didn't like the one I tasted. Opted for a Margarita. It tasted like lemon water. Worst I ever had. Still no friendlies from the bartender who seemed aggravated working there. Ordered Brussel sprouts appetizer, which was very good. Ordered the chicken, which looked delicious but it was undercooked. Just all pink in the middle. The whole vibe was down and ended up just paying and leaving. It's just a nice looking upscale place that doesn't seem to have thier off hours groove.

Amazing place! Food is delicious and the service/hospitality is some of the best I've over experienced. We had a birthday in our party and they delivered a tasty dessert and a card signed by the staff!

Love this place. Food is so good. Service even better. Our server Andrew was amazing. So attentive even though looked like he was alone we never had to wait long for our order. We were celebrating our anniversary and they gave us the sweetest card. Can't wait to go back on Thursday for their live music

Food was delicious and atmosphere friendly. Service was a tad slow, but gave us time to chat.

Even though the date could have been better, the food and service made up for it. The ambiance was nice as well. I had a Caesar salad with chicken. It was delicious. He had a steak and cheese sandwich and truffles fries and said they were great. Our server Andrew was friendly and attentive. I will be going back.

Absolutely loved the vibe in this place; clean, chic, spacious…food is mediocre and overpriced. Service was slow and amateurish even on a less than crowded Thursday evening. Do not order the non alc matcha drink, it tastes like STRAIGHT pineapple juice (I even asked which non alc was the least sweet ?). Bummed. I really wanted to like this place because of the GF fryer and menu.

It was an adventure getting here from lower CT, but worth it. I am not familiar with this part of CT and am glad I had GPS to navigate me in the dark. Cotton Hollow rests within a seemingly quaint New England town center and is a modern tavern with plenty of comfortable seating, wonderfully creative libations and mocktails, and virtually everything on the menu can be served either with or without gluten. (Probably the most extensive gluten-free menu I have seen anywhere.) We were a large group of friends celebrating another friend's birthday (and later witnessed her boyfriend propose marriage and her accept). Our server, Drew, was wonderful. He was friendly and attentive. He alone waited on us and we never had to ask for anything. He even brought out a round of champagne on the house for everyone to toast the future nuptials. My mushroom Swiss burger was cooked just the way I like it and the Parmesan garlic sauce as a condiment coupled with the Swiss cheese gave my taste buds an instant happy. Be warned, however, the food is a bit overpriced here. I would have liked a little more meat for the price of the burger. Overall, this was a great experience and we appreciated how special the staff made this surprise birthday/proposal party for our dear friend. The staff even wrote out a very nice card to the couple. If great casual food and service is what you're looking for, look no further than Cotton Hollow Kitchen!
