My food was cold. I couldnt find the waitress. Had to ask for proper utensils. The cook came out to heat my food and was lacking its accompanying item. After we paid never saw staff again. There were 3 young people chatting. Customers were ignored. You need to do better its a nice place. Too bad service attention is lacking.

Charming bistro however we were incredibly disappointed with the overpriced and poorly cooked breakfast. I had avocado toast, it was fine. Expensive at $12 but fine. My husband ordered a Greek omelette with a side of bacon and a side of potatoes. The omelette was plain egg with a bunch of ingredients in the middle, not incorporated. Whole olives and whole cherry tomatoes, not chopped. The bacon was undercooked and the potatoes were absolutely atrocious. They were super oily and when you bit into it the top part of the potatoes was mushy and the middle was strangely firm. It honestly seemed like they were made a day or more ago and just microwaved. Absolutely inedible. We returned them and asked for tater tots which the (very nice apologetic) girl forgot to bring us. We both had decaf and the half and half was curdled. For $42 we are so disappointed. It’s not table service, you order at a counter and seat yourself.Decor is beautiful however and there’s a lovely vibe. I would come back but just to order a muffin and a tea maybe.

If I could rate their food below 0 stars I would. I got the breakfast platter which comes with 2 eggs, toast, homefries, bacon and sausage. The fried eggs were fine, the toast was fine, the sausages are pre cooked links that taste absolutely awful. The homefries were drenched in oil and it felt disgusting biting down on a soggy piece of potato. The bacon was undercooked and had a plastic-like consistency. I couldn’t bare to finish any of it. For the breakfast and coffee it ended up being $24. Way too overpriced to be selling food worse than McDonald’s. Mind you this is their “Sunday Brunch” menu, so I can’t speak on their other dishes or beverages, but I was very unsatisfied leaving with an empty stomach and -$24.

Hudson’s is a gem of a restaurant located in the Heritage Village section of Southbury. It’s serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and each of these seating times offer yummy and satisfying selections. If you don’t see exactly what you’re craving, ask the owner/chef Roy and if he has the ingredients, he always try to accommodate (he has so many times for me). He will even throw out ideas he can whip up for you, many coming out of the seafood market he also owns, which is the freshest around (I am primarily pescatarian so I know the quality is excellent).I eat here often and am never disappointed. The owner/chef is amazing at his craft. I could never stress enough how amazing a chef Roy is. Last night, I brought the burrata salad, french onion soup, grilled cheese, a rueben and the chicken pesto panini to a friend’s house and we feasted and incredibly happy! Tonight I will be back for an amazing seafood dinner and a bottle of wine. Yes…. It’s that good that I can go multiple days in a row.Give Hudson’s a try. Your happiness and satisfaction is the chef’s!Dietary restrictions: Offers glutenfree/ gluten friendly options and can adjust many items for this. I am glutenfree and love to have nany diverse choices!

Speaking only of the sit down experience.Wanted to grab lunch from the falafel place which offers sit down here in the cafe.Food was atypical and overpriced Middle Eastern.Medium sized chicken shawarma bowl was $22, but shouldn't be more than $12.7 weirdly soft kibble balls were $14 and should be more like $9-10. I've had kibbe in many places but this seems to lack bulgur wheat and pine nuts and was soft instead of firm, while shaped in lumps tossed loosely in the fryer instead of balls or ovals.Overall food was ok but nothing special and rather mediocre and overpriced.I'll drive to Watertown for quality middle Eastern instead.Servers and staff were great on a plus side!

Food was bland. Ordered the buttermilk waffles and they were below average. Plus they give you 3/4 of a waffle for $16 which is insane. The tater tots were underdone.Hot beverages were good. That’s about it.

What an amazing and wonderful surprise to find this hidden gem! Simple yet outstanding preparations of favorites (a nice treat vs. often overly prepared attempts at fancy recipes at some other places). Super fresh ingredients, cooked with unusual care and skill for a small bistro, and very friendly and attentive service. My mom raved about the egg platter with perfectly crispy bacon, and i had one of the best ever oatmeal bowls, which turned out to be tasty and creamy slow-cooked oats, just the right amount of cinnamon, and with fresh fruit artfully arranged on top. The restaurant is clean, bright, and even a touch of hip with a comfortable couch in one corner, and a beautiful outdoor patio. Turns out they also have a nice lunch menu, and are open two nights a week for dinner (serving beer and wine as well). As a low-key but upscale neighborhood bistro, they deserve all five stars! We’ll definitely be back!

Cute place. Very clean with nice seating area outside. Staff was friendly. Picked up some food to go. Caeser salad was basic but tasted fresh. Lamb burger was well seasoned with a fresh roll but a little dry. So overall a good lunch but nothing special.
