Very cool sports bar in the shopping district of Southbury. Great selection of comfort food, exceptional staff, and a family friendly atmosphere. Check out jukebox bingo on Mondays! It's so much fun!

Good all around. Buffalo chicken and drafts were on point. The award winning burger was very peppery, but otherwise pretty solid.

We had a large party of about 15 people on Friday evening. We were hosting an event, and our guests came from all over the Northeast. Everyone enjoyed the food! The service was great, too. Thank you from the Colonial Bloodhound Club!

I hate leaving bad feedback but I’ve had one too many bad experiences here with food I feel inclined to warn others. Let me be clear, the bartenders are all lovely, great at making cocktails. The kitchen and owner, however, are what is problematic. A few months ago I ordered a dinner. I received an email they changed my order without explanation. When it arrived, rather than an entire entree it was one single side, a side the recipient was allergic to and couldn’t even eat. I reached out and Vinny refused to refund me, told me they didn’t change my order, and that if I was looking for an apology I should talk to the delivery service. It’s been a few months so I figured maybe it was a one off thing, maybe he was having a bad night, and I decided to try them again tonight. I ordered a Caesar salad and added shrimp. It arrived without shrimp despite the $8 upcharge. I contacted the delivery service, who contacted the restaurant. When they replied to me they said the restaurant told them my order was correct and that I didn’t order shrimp. That the salad would be $20 if I ordered shrimp. I showed the customer service rep my receipt, with the shrimp charge, $20 salad, clear as day. It’s bizarre they would mess up again and still refuse to take responsibility. At this point I’m done eating at the establishment. I understand things happen but to be so rude and customer-blaming each time I’m at a loss for words. I was a patron since the grand opening but won’t be returning to dine.

Had reservations for my wife's birthday for 12 people. Showed up to a piece of paper on the door saying closed. No call to tell us they were closed ahead of time. Too late to find a reservation anywhere else. Had to order pizza.
We stood for a while waiting to be seen and then once someone came, (it was me and my 9 year-old daughter) they walked us past all of these empty tables and put us at this high-top table with backless stools to sit at. There was not even enough room for water and menus. I looked around and an off-duty employee saw my disappointment and agreed with me that the tables are way too small and said that they too had been asking the owners for tables large enough to serve food at. This table was also almost completely on top of the table behind it. It felt as though we were joining strangers to eat. The waitress said that they were preparing for karaoke at 7. (It was 5:25pm) There was nowhere to place my purse and it was awkward so we finally requested to move to an empty table across the restaurant. One with chairs, chairs that had backs, more of a table for a kid and a mom whose back can't handle sitting on a stool for a meal. I had a burger with just meat, cheddar, and a bun and my daughter had mac 'n cheese. My burger was cooked perfectly at medium-rare but was sooo over salted that I did not get to enjoy it. My daughter, being 9, did not like that the crock of mac and cheese was fully covered in breadcrumbs. I tried to take them off, but there was a LOT. We asked for one without and they kind of seemed bothered and tried to change our mind by saying they would have to 'Remake the whole thing". Well, I tried to see if she would be able to eat it that way, but she just did not like it. In my experience, most younger kids don't. And this was from the kids menu. The waitstaff should mention it when taking the order so parents know. I am willing to bet that most would say without. The food came out and she did love the mac. No one came by after that. I grabbed a staff member walking by and asked for the check as I had to get my daughter somewhere. Then, I went to the bar to ask for change so I could just leave the money and a heavier blondish bartender was SO rude. I did get the change, put it on the table and left. (I never use cash, but they give a discount if you pay for cash. Seems a bit sus) It's too bad cause the place has a cool look visually. But as for the rest it was not somewhere I would recommend to anyone.

I don’t like writing a negative review but tonight’s dinner was a real disappointment. Bread had visible mold (mold was blamed on bread vendor but person plating should’ve noticed!!), fries were missed as a side, and - I know it’s a sports-themed restaurant but - donut holes shouldn’t actually bounce like hockey pucks. Our waitress was also the bartender and she wasn’t the most pleasant. But there were several staff members just hanging around who could’ve spent their time being more attentive to patron so I can’t fault her for not exuding happiness. I expected better quality and a better experience which is unfortunate. Don’t think we will return.

We waited over 30 minutes for our reserved table. Hostess was completely overwhelmed. We waited a while for our drinks (just soda and seltzer). Waitress was pleasant and food was fine.

This was our first visit to Monty's and likely our last. We heard mixed reviews from friends and other reviews we had read. The food is subpar for the price. The menu sounds better than it is in our opinion. My son ordered wings off the kids menu and asked for BBQ since he noticed they were listed on the "Mild" section of flavor options. They were not mild at all and quite spicy. The kitchen was generous and remade him wings free of charge, but they weren't great. My other kids ordered burgers off the kids menu and they were thin and dry. Everything was overly salted too. I hate to give places bad reviews, but sadly this is not a local place we will be visiting again. We also noticed that on a Friday night at 6/6:30 they were not busy at all...thats pretty telling of an establishment.
The food was delicious and so were the drinks! The table setup is well spaced and comfortable. There are so many tv screens that every seat had a great view of the game. The staff was very friendly and attentive.
Decent food, reasonable

The bartender there was really nice she actually made a point of coming to talk to us just thought that was great. The burgers we had were delicious. The drinks were also very good. Prices were about normal to a bit high but all in all my wife and I had a very nice meal and a couple of drinks. I would highly recommend you check the place out I'll for sure will be going back.
