The food was awesome. The service was amazing. And the place was spotless! There was someone even cleaning the sconces while we were there. Most places have them covered with dust. Highly recommend stopping in.

Went here today for lunch and got the grilled turkey sandwich and the cool cuke cocktail. Everything was excellent! They didn’t water down the cocktail at all and the sandwich was so good. Other people at the table got the Caesar wrap and the rathskellar chicken sandwich and they raved about their meals as well. I would absolutely come back here!

I ordered an espresso martini and it tasted like just iced espresso absolutely no alcohol so when I ordered a second and it was the same, when I ordered a third I asked the waitress could you actually put alcohol in it because I didn’t even have a slightest buzz from 3 martinis and I don’t really drink so I should have been drunk from the first 2 and for almost $55 in drinks it was my first time there and I had ketchup dropped by a worker and splashed on my pants and boots I cleaned the floor because nobody else did that was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant the food was good but not worth what we spent on drinks

Amazing staff and food! My favorite is the pecan chicken! The staff is so sweet and accommodating. The owners always greet us and make us feel as home. If you haven’t been here yet GO!

I love the Rathskeller! So cozy and inviting. The staff is wonderful; attentive and friendly! Not to mention, the food is fantastic and well worth the price. Next time you come through Southbury, make this on your list of stops!!

Besides a very friendly smile and good service, there’s really not much else my wife and I liked. Atmosphere and food were beyond outdated. We lost our appetite as soon as we walked in. I’m not one to leave reviews but I can’t wrap my head around how this place has over 3 stars let alone over 4.

I’d give a higher review here, but I have one major issue with the rathskeller. You cannot, and should not claim to have a gluten-free menu when you do not have a designated fryer that is gluten-free. People who have celiac could get extremely ill and end up hospitalized from cross-contamination. I just wish they would either have A fryer that is designated gluten-free or change their menu to reflect that. Putting GF on items and claiming its gluten-free gives people a false sense of security and it can be a very serious issue.

This is a hidden, really hidden GEM with fabulous food, gorgeous landscaping, free bocce and cornhole, and a fabulous outdoor music venue.
Dine in the charming tavern or dining room, on the cheerful brick patio, or at the bocce courts. Every ingredient arrives fresh and is processed with skill.
Don't miss the superb fish & chips whose recipes dates back to the 1930’s. Much on a huge soft pretzel, fresh salads, huge burgers, or sensational desserts.
Just… GO.
