$7 for a HALF OF A CUP OF GREASY/OILY RI CHOWDER FULL OF POTATOES. TASTES LIKE GREASY ONION SOUP! Purchased a house salad and asked for some bread with it.....No,you can BUY A TRAY OF BREAD FOR 3.50. SOOOO DISAPPOINTED 😞 Was looking forward to a great lunch. But no, not today. Won't go back
$7 for a half of cup of greasy potatoes. No bread with a togo salad. Maybe if bread was served with the salad it would help soak up the greasy soup. What is wrong with that restaurant? Go elsewhere

Place has been my go to for many years for once in awhile seafood take out or occasional sit down ,I don't know what happened , simply wanted to order a lobster 🦞 roll and a bisque to go was told has to sit at the bar and order it , so if you do want take out here phone it in , and I feel as someone sitting at a bar not drinking is taking up space for another guest perhaps

2nd experience at this restaurant and would love to give 5 stars.
It takes over an hour to get your meal.
The staff is friendly, but you can tell are stressed out .
The first time we went we arrived at 630 and didn't get our meals until 815. By that time we weren’t hungry and just boxed to take home.
The second time we tried again. Reservation for 615. This time it didn't seem as busy. But still didn't get our meals until 730. Upon observation, those getting take out probably got thier orders quicker.
The seafood is great!! So is the New England Clam Chowder
Would love to give 5 stars but takes too long to get your meal.
Maybe will order ahead of time and take home.

One of the best restaurants in town. I’ve been dining here for over 10 years. Wonderful staff, chef, and owners. Contrary to a recent negative review about the Jambalaya on the menu, it’s one of my favorites. I highly recommend it!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Close Harbor Seafood. The entire staff is wonderful. The owner is always so friendly and always ensures we are happy with our meals and drinks. We’ve also had the pleasure of meeting the executive chef. He takes such pride in every dish him and his team prepares. Reagan and Mickey make amazing drinks and always with a smile on their face. I saw a negative review about Reagan. I totally disagree with his review and about Reagan! I’ve always had a wonderful experience there with the entire staff! Give it a try Southington! Don’t listen to the haters!

I was trying to celebrate my birthday today and to have my first experience at this restaurant. This place is horrible I won't recommend this restaurant to any of my friends or family. Horrible job by the waitress Raegan. First the waitress Raegan was very rude and has a nasty attitude. Dont ask her any questions because her response is like she is doing you a HUGE favor. I should have left right then and there but I wanted to give her a second chance. Secondly, the portions are incredibly cheap for the prices they charge. I mentioned it to her and she acted like she did not even hear me. To add a llittle more rice and more corn to the Jambalaya would not have bankrupted this restaurant.The shrimp in the Jambalaya was so over cooked it was like chewing gum We wouldnt dare say anyting to this very unpleasant waitress. The only thing that was good in this place was the bread , fried shrimp and pinot grigio. Save your money and do not go to this establishment. I never, ever tasted Jambalaya this bad.

Came tonight with my wife for my Birthday of all days to be completely disrespect. MY server was Raegan. Complete attitude rate from the walk in before we sat down. I asked something regarding my meal.Got an attitude like i've never had anybody give me in my life. She put in the wrong order. I then explained that is not what I ordered and she argued with me. My wife while I went in the bathroom told her it was my birthday and asked for a cake. After seeing her walk by making her smug faces. Sucking her teeth giving us an attitude. At that point I told my wife to tell her.Please do not bring out the cake we paid and left. I told another server in the park a lot.What my experience was and she said hold on. At that point a manager came out to talk to me.I told her the whole entire experience and all she said was.I hope you come back again. No, I'm sorry, no Happy Birthday no.Would you like a piece of cake nothing. We are completely disgusted and my entire family comes to this restaurant.We will not be coming ever again due to the way we were disrespected.
