I usually enjoy coming to this D’Angelo’s in Southington, but something happened on 9/25/25 that really hurt me and my partner. I am transgender, and while I was waiting to order, one of the employees — an older, fat white man who I’ve seen here many times and believe is a manager — looked right at me and muttered “disgusting” under his breath. Both my partner and I heard it clearly.
I already filed a formal complaint with the company, but I feel people should know what happened. It was disrespectful, humiliating, and completely uncalled for. No one should be treated this way, especially by someone who seems to be in a position of authority.
This man is often grumpy with customers, but this went beyond rudeness — it was discriminatory. D’Angelo’s should be a place where everyone feels welcome, not singled out and insulted.

Superior sandwiches, great breads, amazing high quality meats. Great cheeses amazing sauces. The number 9, the cheeseburger sub, and the toasted Italian are all amazing sandwiches.
