So yes omg go here! Amazing service. Amazing drinks(Blackberry margaritas) and we ordered five different appetizers/tapas. Calamari, pork tenderloin with pickled beets, crab cakes..omg, PEI mussels in garlic and white wine and beef tenderloin in brandy reduction. Um yah. Let’s do that again soon. 10 stars. I never write reviews so that’s something.

Very disappointed. I have been going to El Pulpo for many years. I was there a month ago for my birthday and it was wonderful. However, I went there last night and their menu has changed. They took many things off the menu. I had a scallops and lobster dish priced at $30. The scallops tasted bitter and the lobster was scant. Also, the service was not great.

Exceptionally well prepared Spanish food. The paella was delicious as was the parrillada. Wine selection is amazing and reasonably priced.

I wish I could give them more stars. DELICIOUS. The Chef is a true talent and the staff is very friendly!

A true gem - Seafood paella and artichokes are very well done. I’ve traveled to Spain and this place is the real authentic deal.

My favorite place in the area for a proper dinner: excellent food, outstanding presentation, good service, and pleasant surroundings (inside at least--the outside, as is often remarked, hardly seems promising). Tapas are the specialty, so come prepared to enjoy the variety and quality, not the quantity.

I took out dinner. Food was flavorful. Piquillos Rellenos de cordero was my favorite here. It was a flavorful appetizer, pepper stuffed with lamb with nice gravy around. Dip the bread (it comes with bread) in the gravy, and its amazing. I also went for Paella de Mariscos. It was good, but too briny for my taste.

We have dined here may times over the years for both our personal enjoyment and business. So we were disappointed that our most recent visit fell far short of our previous visits and expectations. The tapas menu seemed limited and the choices we selected were fair at best. With so many dining opportunities and many featuring small traps plates, we will take our business to seek out other restaurants to to our list of favorites.

I enjoy eating at Pulpo. The drinks that was offered to me was excellent. I forgot the name of it. I had the paella. It was ok. A bit salty and a small portion. My wife enjoyed her dinner.

6 years later and this restaurant has gotten even better. I'm updating my review to 5 star because the food, service and decor has now taken over any concern I had about location. This might be one of my favorite restaurants in Hartford county. I'm not sure why I waste time and money dining at other high priced restaurants in the area that are not nearly as good. Keep up the great food El Pulpo!

Delicious food, wonderful cocktails, fantastic service, unfortunate location for outdoor dining. A mix of traditional and innovative tapas. Well crafted cocktails. Attentive service with no hovering. But... located on a very busy street.

My husband and I had a 7pm reservation. We arrived and there were only a few tables with patrons. I had table 27, was seated at 7pm- we sat until 7:34 when our order was taken. It was 7:50 when we received bread and appetizer at the same time. ( because I asked for them). That was 50 minutes without food. Our dinner came out about 30 minutes later. The food was ok but not what was expected. (spinach was cooked well but had no flavor, although it said with garlic sauce) The striped bass was well cooked and had a nice crunch to it. I was quite disappointed, I have been to this restaurant a few times but it has been over a year since the last time I ate there. Normally I have enjoyed their food, but this date left me wondering if I would come back.
