Gobi Mongolian Grill in Southington is an amazing experience for anyone who loves fresh, customizable meals! You get to pick out all your ingredients—meats, vegetables, noodles, rice, and more—then create your own custom sauce. Once your bowl is ready, you walk up to the massive grill where the staff take a number and cook your meal right in front of you. Watching the skilled cooks toss everything on the hot grill while you wait is part of the fun, and the staff are constantly rotating ingredients to ensure everything stays fresh and flavorful. It’s a perfect combination of interactive dining, great food, and attentive service—highly recommended!

Went here after hiking Compounce Mountain next to Lake Compounce Amusement Park! Probably one of my favorite buffets - too bad I don't live closer. I personally like this concept better than the buffets who do a hibachi grill on the side if you know what I mean. Got two full hibachi plates, a bowl of ice cream, and I was stuffed. I don't do the rice or noodles, so, for me, I liken it to a custom fajita platter with any meats and veggies of your choice lol! Really enjoyed the ginger sesame sauce for my first round and combo of general tso sauce and spicy garlic sauce for the second round. Although I would probably just stick to one sauce cup (plus garlic), it can get overly saucy if you double up. But of course, yum yum sauce on the side for dipping!

It's a self-service place you choose the food from a communal buffet, unless you know how to create flavor profiles it's a shot in the dark rendering unenjoyable food. Not my personal preference.

Reasonable price. Chicken was overcooked. Strawberry icecream was tasteless. Coconut icecream was ok. Large choice of vegetables and meats for hibachi cooking

I love this place. Its one of a few places my special needs son is great at. They have so many options. My other son has somehow created a special bond with Fahai, the cook. Everytime we visit, he makes a big fuss about my son. He makes my boy feel so special. Their friendship is so cute. Hes a big reason we come back.

That aside...the veggies are always fresh, its always very clean and the waitstaff are super efficient.
