We came on Thanksgiving and they were only serving the prefix menu. The food arrived cold and inedible. Our meal for 5 on an $89 / person prefix was nearly $500 and we couldn't even eat the food. I would never recommend this location it was horrific. There were also only 3/4 other tables when we had dinner - there was no excuse for such terrible food at that price point. Southport location has always been perfect and never had a bad meal there.

I've been going to Blackstone in Southport, Norwalk and Stamford and Greenwich for years. "Superlative" is not strong enough to describe my experiences. The staff is attentive but not overpowering. I had onion soup and the cheese was flowing over the edges of the crock. The main course, NY Strip, was flavorful and tender. My favorite side is creamed spinach. There was more than enough for two.

A very pedestrian steak house. Our steaks were average quality at best as were our appetizers. Judging by the crowd on a Thursday night, it is an expense account place to bring clients. Which is all it seems to aspire to be.

I do not usually do this but I felt the need to communicate this to the Blackstone Steakhouse in Stamford. On Friday 9/12/2025 we had reservations at 8:30 for my wife's birthday and I was called a total of 3 times during the day regarding my reservation. The 1st time at 1:24 pm to confirm my reservation (which I already had done on the app but okay) then again at 6:54 pm asking if we could come at 8 pm instead of 8:30 to which I said I would try but we lived 45 min away and then again at 8:34 pm (as I was parking) asking if we were still coming because the doors close at 9. The website says 10 PM!!!! What steakhouse closes at 9 pm on a Friday ??? We finally get in and the place is absolutely empty!!! Why were we being rushed to show up? Anyway, after that, my wife and I got seated at a table for 4 instead of 2 (whatever) but who is training the hostesses on how to sit people ? Next the service was pretty abysmal for a steakhouse that charges Manhattan prices. The waiter didn't even ask how we wanted the steaks cooked, we had to remind him before he walked away that we want them rare (scary thought on how they would have been cooked otherwise ). The food was pretty basic and not in line with what a steakhouse should be but was at least edible, except the brussel sprouts which were actually awful. Then for the dessert- I ordered the tiered chocolate cake which was half frozen ! And an espresso to which I got a full cup of some type of coffee that was certainly not espresso. Who is teaching these folks how to make an espresso!? I am so shocked at how terrible the experience was and I just felt the need to communicate this in the hopes that someone reads this and makes improvements, especially after the sign said under new management. We should have probably realized it was going to be bad when the place was dead empty on a Friday. And for the pièce de résistance, we saw a mouse running across the dining area on the way out. Terrible !!!

1st experience here. Didn't have the reservation I made on OpenTable when I arrived. Wasn't an issue bc on 2 tables with customers at 8pm on a Thurs. my friends arrived at 8:15 to locked doors and a hostess that let them in and told them the kitchen would be closing soon. Our 1st round of drinks took 15+ min to be served (only 9 total customers by this time. Ordered a full 4 course meal and had to walk to the bar to ask our server twice to bring the next course or order additional drinks bc he was talking with other staff. At the end of our entree our waiter asked if we'd like our deserts to go. We were completely annoyed by this time so we did. When he brought the $400+ bill he gave me a 15% off next visit coupon. The food was fantastic, but with the rest of the staff treating us like they wished we'd leave through our entire meal, I gave it to my Uber driver along with a warning....

We visited Blackstone Stamford during restaurant week. The filet mignon and strip steak were excellent . The iceberg lettuce was very small but tasty. The calamari was very good as well but on the smaller side. The carrot cake was a generous size and tiramisu was delicious. The waiter was very pleasant but not as attentive as he should have been since the restaurant was not busy at the time. Overall, it was a great dinner and I would recommend it.

I’m truly disappointed with you guys. Back in 2022 I received a $200 gift certificate. Between chemo and life mishaps I was unable to go. Few months ago I called to see if I would still be able to use the certificate and was told it never expires. Also note there’s no expiration date written on it. Only to my surprise I’m not being told that I can not use it and it’s only valid for 6 months. This is horrible business. $200 down the drain is no joke and is extremely unexceptionable.

Might have been a bad day. Silverware was dirty. It took an hour to get burgers. Ordered a medium rare burger, got one that was well done. Sent it back and was given a burger for another order but it was well done too. Expensive put experience.

The service is uneven at the bar. My first visit was phenomenal, but the second one was atrocious. I was asked to clear my plate twice despite having a drink and recently asked for a refill on my "coke" (Pepsi is served).

Food is good and filet is of very high quality, though sides are poorly seasoned.

They also sing birthday songs, almost like a Texas Roadhouse.

I will not be coming back.

Unfortunately, I cannot write about the quality of the food because I didn't get the chance to eat, due to complete incompetence by the wait staff. By incompetence, I mean we sat down for 15 minutes without any service, despite the restaurant being mostly empty so I just walked out. It's as if these people have absolutely no clue on how to run a restaurant. There is a reason this place is empty, and my guess it will close down soon, meaning the people who run the restaurant can find a job they are probably more adept at, such as picking trash.. actually people who pick trash have far more skill than the people who run this restaurant.

Came to this location on valentines Day, arrived at 8:30, was immediately seated in the back of the restaurant. I was surprised there was no wait even though the restaurant seemed very busy. The atmosphere seemed very nice and that was the end of my experience. We were never given a menu. The waiter came to tables around our location to take orders and provide drinks, not once did he approach us. We were seated next to the kitchen, so our table was very visible. It is now 10:00 pm and we just chose to get up and leave. Still haven't been approached by anyone, not even to fill my glass with water. Seems like a nice place. I wish I had gotten a chance to expirence the food instead of being seated and forgotten 😕

Terrible all around.. made reservations for 9:15, got seated at around 9:20 which was the only thing they done about right here. We sat around for about 15 mins before a waiter came to greet us, she took our order. And we order everything all at once (drinks, app, and entree’s) so that way we didn’t have to wait long. They only brought out the drinks and appetizer. Me and my partner were talking and realized the waiter hadn’t came to check on us for a while. Then we realized the people that got sat down after us had received their food first. I tried to wait it out, but before we knew it the time was 10:50. The waiter never came to check on us or anything. Once she finally came over, I told her to just give us the check, she then reaches for my card without even giving us the check first. I think they are unprofessional knowing that today is Valentine’s Day also, I know days like this are busy but we came at the end of the night and there were barely anyone there. We also seen multiple people end up leaving. Which makes me believe they are just terrible at customer service. Sucks to hear good things about a place and then have a terrible first experience. I will never go back there ever again. They also gave us the smallest table in the whole room. Highly don’t recommend Blackstone of Stamford, better off going to a new location.

The fried calamari was exquisite especially with the sauce. The waiter was very nice and professional. The steak was a little bit dry and not And not fully cooked. The lava cake was VERY DRY , there was no chocolate coming out of the cake.

This place has so much potential. Located on the corner of Broad street in the center of Stamford’s downtown area, I choose this after considering several others. Ordered the Tomahawk steak for 2 , tuna tar tar, mozzarella and tomato’s starters, Brussel sprouts and a French Cabernet. Cabernet was over priced and bad, so I next chose a bottle Moët. Waiter came back a few minutes later and said he was out of Moët and the other high end options?😏 This is the week before Thanksgiving and you are low on inventory? It would have been nice if the waiter knew what was available, but he didn’t. The waiter was a nice guy, but didn’t mention any specials, nor did he offer recommendations of spirits. Next came the food, steak ordered medium rare wasn’t the best cut. Think Sizzler vs. Gallagher’s. Prosecco option was decent, mozzarella was good, nice wedge of tomato and onion, Tar Tar didn’t blow me away, and overall service wasn’t what I expected from a good waiter who would better serve customers by being proactive vs. reactive. This seems to be a chain that needs a little overall tuneup to get it right on food, staff and spirits. Not a go to in the future. Cmon Stamford - you can do better.☺️
