We arrived around 6:30 pm on a Saturday just as the place was starting to fill up and really buzz with activity. We were promptly seated as we had a reservation. This spot is vibrant and popular; serving Latin dishes and fresh cocktails. It welcomes all ages and is well staffed. Before we had our appetizer, every table receives plantain chips and homemade salsa on the house. The salsa was fresh and very tasty. Next, we had an appetizer of an assortment of their empanadas, beef, chicken and pork. They were cut in half so it was good for sharing. They were quite good, but difficult to tell which was which, but they were all delicious. For my main course I had the Churrasco Gaucho which was grass-fed NY Strip Steak, roasted asparagus, baby gold potatoes, and chimichurri sauce. The steak was very flavorful and cooked to perfection with the chimichurri spot on. The veggies were also prepared perfectly. My friend had the Filete de Lubina which was pan seared bronzini with pesto risotto. She thought it was delicious. The prices are not inexpensive, but the portion sizes are big and the food is good. Brasitas is a long established Latin eatery with a great wait staff and superb food. Worth a visit for sure.

So I went yesterday for my second time and they did not disappoint. Everything from the plantain chips and salsa to the arepas to the entrees were out of this world. Don’t get me started on the drinks lol. The service is phenomenal and the staff is super attentive to the point where we didn’t have to ask for anything, it just happened (water refill, plates taken away etc). Definitely one of my new favorite restaurants in CT. Highly recommend.
