If there's one place in Stamford where you really want to eat Italian cuisine, it's Fortina. As an Italian on holiday in these parts I can say it out loud. Furthermore: kindness, speed of service, understanding, adaptation to the customer. Walking around the place I also saw that they organize many initiatives, including live music and a weekly Trivia tournament. The prices seem high but, once you have tasted the dishes, you realize that such high quality cannot be found...
Food is good, a bit on the heavy side usually. Service can be good or bad. Atmosphere is generally good, and they have a great rooftop, but it's not as popular as the other one across the street.
I was out for lunch with about 20 people from my job. We had the pleasure of having Roger as our waiter. He was kind, patient and attentive. He offers suggestions on what he sees customers order. Me being the picky one out of the bunch. I ordered the wood fire shrimp, which Roger said was a favorite. I wouldn't say I liked it, sadly. Roger brought me out another without breadcrumbs.
