Kotobuki is an authentic Japanese restaurant with excellent food and service. The head chef is the owner -- Masanori Sato, who goes informally by the moniker "Masa." Masa is always busy, behind the such bar, creating his excellent delicacies. My favorite is the sushi and sushi rolls -- always fresh and delicious. In addition to the traditional rolls, there are some wonderful in-house creations such as the Spicy Betty Roll, Lobster Roll (my wife's favorite), and my favorite, the Kevin Roll. The latter, in deference to the national color of Ireland, is spicy tuna wrapped in slices of tuna, fried, and covered with avocado (green, of course). The setting is not overdone, to say the least, but is very basic -- a variety of wooden tables surrounded by walls enhanced with various pieces of art appropriate to the cuisine and culture. The tables are separated by cloth partitions highlighting Japanese scenery. The table service is excellent, the staff is very accommodating, and shout-outs are certainly appropriate for Mr. Sato's wife (head waitress) and Jenny (one of the welcoming waitresses). Moreover, the dining room is very quiet, conducive to conversing with cohorts without the need to raise one's voice. It should be mentioned that Kotobuki remained open during the pandemic, serving both take-out meals AND in-house specialties.

Visited during Restaurant Week for the sushi-sashimi bento box. It was a great meal, especially for the value! For $20 I got 4 slices of sashimi, 4 sushi, vegetable tempura, and a salad. The veggies were cooked perfectly - soft inside crunchy outside, and the fish was delightfully fresh!
I’m only here for a few days, but may swing by again because it was THAT GOOD

This place has the best sushi in Stamford! The meal started strong with flavorful dumplings that were seriously delicious. The spider roll was crispy and packed with flavor, and the tempura roll was another winner— light, fresh, and just the right amount of crunch. The salmon roll was good, but the other rolls definitely stole the show. The atmosphere was also dope.

I've dined here almost weekly since moving to the area 6 months ago. The food here is exceptional, both lunch and dinner. The service and prices are good too. I've eaten sushi in Japan, Korea, NYC, SF and LA. So I know good sushi!
Not only the bad egg on the food, no apology for a broken dish which had multiple chips and dangerous. The oil was also very old which made temperatures yellow. We will not return to this place again. Very disappointed

I just went to get take out there. Sat in sushi bar and ordered other items while waiting. For take out, I ordered the imperial and sushi B..Supposed to come with 10 pieces of sushi.. however both only came with 8.Restaurant is expensive. So if you gonna charge this much. You should at least honor what you said you would do.
