I took my girlfriend for a quick brunch here. The food was good however the service was bad (for many reasons, but I will only speak specifically on one).The staff speak Spanish, which is perfectly fine because so does my girlfriend. I have no issues with people who speak other languages around others however, the servers were disrespecting an elderly customer while speaking Spanish. I guess they were assuming that no one else understood what they were saying.This elderly lady sat right beside us and was quite pleasant. We were having a conversation and she was participating in our conversation and on her way out, even made jokes with us saying “ Don’t get old. At my age, I need help calculating tips.”I think it’s absolutely ridiculous that those staff members thought it was acceptable to speak ill of Someone because they are a little slower than others. I’m sure this is not the first time they have done such a thing because they are always making comments to each other and looking at customers.I will never go back here… And I hope the local community truly takes this to heart. Because while you may be paying the staff to serve you… They may be disrespecting you for some random reason just because they love to gossip and take their frustration out on others.

The best thing about this place was the view! Beautiful outlook onto the lake with large windows facing the lake.The food and service was okThe main thing was you need CASH! We had to go back to the car to get more cash as we didn’t carry much on us as tourists.I even saw someone order something and then when they advised they only take cash the customer walked out as he had no cash.

Fun place for a pit stop on our way to Cape Cod! We had never heard of it before and it was a happy accidental stop that we Will definitely make on purpose in the future! The donuts and muffins were amazing, the other food was okay.

I was driving from Maryland to Massachusetts and am so glad I stopped here for lunch. It’s clearly a local favorite. My omelette was very tasty. The vintage-style signs are a lot of fun. I’m kicking myself for not getting one of those donuts but I was trying to get back on the road.

I’ve been here several times with friends. Today I took my dad for lunch and it was terrible. The staff did not really acknowledge us and they took forever to bring our menus. These are understandable during the lunch rush but worst of all they brought us the bill without even asking. It was so rude and my dad was so upset he said he won’t come back. I’m disappointed that this otherwise fantastic establishment chose to neglect us this time and I hope this doesn’t happen again if I ever return. I used to be a loyal customer but now Im going to have to re evaluate that.Update: Just do better next time. My experience with a restaurant is highly dependent on how well the other person enjoyed the experience. As long as I don't have another unhappy relative or friend then it should be no problem. (maybe a free donut or two though??)

Grossly overpriced. I went with my wife and son. While each meal is reasonably priced, they don’t post the beverage prices. Breakfast for 3 people was over $90 because each milk, coffee and OJ are $10 each. I will never go back. Staff was rude when I politely asked about the bill amount.

Delicious blueberry muffin and BLT with avocado. Beautiful view of the lake. Great service. Easy stop off the highway.
This is a staple of Stamford comfort food. The Lakeside diner seems like a away spot even though it's several minutes to downtown. No matter what time of year you visit, you aww going to get a gorgeous view of the lake right besides the dinner. Though very busy, the turn over is fast. The place was packed, but within 2 minutes I was seated nearby the window overlooking the peaceful view. The menu has an excellent array of choices. No matter what you order, save some room for their famous donut! Also, the service is top notch. This is cash only, so make sure to stop at an ATM. Don't miss out on this gem.

We absolutely LOVED eating here!! The staff were so kind and friendly and the food was so delicious for a great price. The view on the water is really charming, and it put us in such a great mood for our road trip home :)

The place might be a townie favorite. But to me, it’s a one and done. Nothing at all special about this place. Old and tight inside. I felt the entire staff had a bad attitude and disliked their job. No credit card didn’t bother me. Not seeing a check was unusual. The waitress just took my money off the table then brought me change.

I’m not here to judge the owner for the reasons she is having this policy, but give folks a fair warning OR don’t have the attitude and pretend like it’s unusual to not have any cash or checkbook (yes, she suggested a check as a helpful alternative) on hand in this day and age.

Went in for soup. The woman who barely spoke any English addressed me not a professional manner asking to help me with her face scrunched. She told me the soup was $6.00 I was okay to pay. I asked her why the menu stated $5.00. They looked at a menu and couldn't find it. I then showed them the menu she gave me. They came back and said it 5.00 but since I'm taking out it's 6.00. My first time ever there and would NEVER go back. So Unprofessional!!
