Madurai South Indian Cuisine

Dull ambience in the name of candle light dinner for a South Indian cuisine. Uthappam was not fully cooked. Was able to taste raw batter. Plate wasn’t cleaned properly. Felt like dull lights are there to camouflage poor food and non cleaned plates!Shop was difficult to find as it was in a different name (Tawa Indian cuisine). Definitely not a South Indian cuisine. Looks like some North Indian took over South Indian dishes.

Indian food is horrible here. Don’t get fooled by the Madurai name. They’ve no clue how to make South Indian food.

No idea why this place is called Madurai South Indian restaurant. Madurai is the land of food and authentic cuisine, this place has spoiled it. They served cold sides and everything was sweet including idly, kothu parotta was prepared like chilli parotta and the food was not well cooked. I was able to feel all the masala powders being raw. But it was not just South Indian food, even the North Indian food was really bad. I totally regret for spending my weekend lunch in this place, I request the management to either change the name of the restaurant or be true to what they cook.

They accept online orders but apparently they don’t receive it. After waiting for an hour I call and checked and they said they never received my order. I then placed my order on the call directly with them. They said delivery will be in another 45-50 mins. I call an hour later and they said I cancelled my order online. I don’t understand how they say my online order wasn’t received but has been cancelled. I don’t understand why they took my order over the phone and gave me a delivery time. Gross incompetence at all stages here.I used to order from here until a year back. I’m reminded why I stopped ordering from here and don’t intend to again.

Madurai is no longer there. Madurai is closed. It is replaced by Tawa that has some South Indian.

Their service is amazing. The food, delicious ?.If you ever end up here, try the lentil mixed veggies soup. It's a good start. All good and tasty delicacies ?

We ordered Idli, chola batura and pav bhaji for to go. Everything was so tasteless and none is fresh.This is the worst Indian food I had in any restaurant. Don’t waste your money. I wish I could give zero stars.

Everything tasted like it came out of a can. The papadams not fresh and the tamarind sauce so watery woudnt even stay on the papadam. The masala dosa wasnt even folded up and tasted like packaged reconstituted mix. Service a disaster. the kept bringing out more dishes without removing the old plates. even the nan was not good. And the menu was absurdly TINY. . Small yellow font on a dark green/black background maybe 2 or 3 point - unreadable, I gave up. Everything about this place was prefab and awful. Much better choices in Fairfield county. As they say in India Oeugh Vey.
