NEW OBSESSION. Thrilled to have found this gem. The mart is fully stocked with countless authentic Japanese food, snacks, seasoning, and drinks. Their coffee section has a large refrigerated section of ready-made meals as well. Yummy, fairly inexpensive, and *definitely* my new go-to place.

Aesthetically beautiful! I love going to this location of Maruichi, I have been going here since it opened its first location in Stamford. I love the variety of vegetables, fruits and noodles they have from Japan. I also love how upstairs they have a lot of beauty, tea and merchandise that are Japan exclusive. The Japanese employees who work here are so kind and sweet in their customer service, it's the only reason I would come back than support products on Amazon. I love their sushi and enjoy shopping their snack aisle!

I like to come here for the bowls, bento boxes, sushi and onigiri. I’ve also purchased small grocery items like dumplings, pocky sticks, tea, rice paper, soy sauce. I find this store convenient and necessary. I enjoy myself here.

This is a beautiful special shop. You must visit! Give them business! The seaweed salad was excellent, I also got shrimp sashimi and 2 rice balls one with eel which I normally don't like, and the other with pickled vegetables. AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS! this is a real GEM! Wish I lived closer

The fresh food is really good and there's an amazing variety of snacks, fresh produce and frozen items. I particularly like the kelp onigiri, so yummy!

Maruichi is a very needed Japanese store, with all the authentic classics. The food is varied and imported, ranging from seafood to fruit, sweets, snacks, vegetables, etc. They even have uni and ikura!! I wish this store was closer to Danbury but im happy they are open anyways. If you're craving something japanese but don't have it in your market, this place is close and fair value.

They have a variety of prepared foods, made to order drinks and snacks, groceries, and merchandise. I always enjoy their prepared sushi and boba tea selection. Even when the store is busy, service is fast and the line keeps moving. Employees are always helpful and restocking.

I tried the bento box takeout and opted for the "Kobe beef" variety. Kobe beef is famous in Japan for its high quality so I assumed it was a good choice. However, in this so-called "Kobe beef" sample, half the meat was inedible gristle as shown. The remainder of the box was largely rice and some pickled vegetables. It wasn't worth $3, let alone $13. This was my first purchase from Mariuchi and will be my last. I suppose the free samples of tasteless donut samples that they offer passers-by should have been a clue to the quality of their prepared food. It's odd that their takeout bento box was so bad because right next door is an excellent Japanese restaurant Kashi that has the tastiest and best-value lunches (hibachis) in all of Stamford. The two side-by-side establishments have no relation to each other--I asked, but now it's obvious from the huge disparity in food quality, despite the common Japanese theme.
