Excellent. I'm no expert on Colombian eats but I'm certain this place is among the very best in the Nation.

Classic, long time Colombian restaurant by exit 9 in Stamford. Good lomo saltado and great empanadas.

They have gotten more expensive but the empanadas are priced pretty reasonably still. Lomo is now around $22 which makes it priced average when compared to other restaurants.

Good parking in front and lady at the counter was very nice and friendly. Had no problem ordering despite not speaking Spanish.

11/10/24 —-This morning, we set off on the drive to MSC Meraviglia, but I thought, “Why not start the day with some Colombian flavor?” I found a small Colombian spot open at 8 am, just five or six minutes from the hotel. As we drove, the scenery shifted—a little less polished than our hotel area. My husband looked a bit skeptical, but we made it just fine.

The restaurant was a classic mom-and-pop joint, kind of like El Paisa back in Rhode Island. I wasn’t exactly hungry, but curiosity won me over. Walking in, we saw blue tables in a cozy little space. As soon as we sat down, Ana Gabriel’s song Luna started playing in the background. I couldn’t help but share a few random facts I remembered about her with my husband—who, bless him, pretended to be interested.

Our server, Paola, greeted us warmly. I ordered scrambled eggs mixed with rice and an arepa on the side—simple but really good! My husband went off-menu, asking for scrambled eggs with toast. No toast in sight, so he settled for croissants. The coffee? Let’s say it was a solid “okay.”

I couldn’t resist grabbing a boñuelo from the pastry counter. Before I knew it, I’d eaten way more than planned, but no regrets—it was exactly what I needed. Not fancy like last night’s spot, but sometimes simple food just hits right. Now I’ve got not one but two Colombian restaurants saved for future visits here.

Alright, off we go to the MSC boarding process in Brooklyn!

The restaurant rips people off. I sat down to eat and ordered off the menu. At the end ehen I received the bill, the prices of every item I ordered were higher than the menu stated. I approached the woman at the register and I asked for a menu. She gave me a menu and as I walking back to my table she yelled at me to go back because she gave me the wrong menu. It turns out that they have a second menu with the prices crossed out with a black marker and higher prices written on it. I asked her why I was given a different priced menu but was charged more without being notified ahead of time about the increased prices. She went off on me in Spanish and kept making excuses. That's not how you run a business. Ripping customers off is not acceptable. I will NEVER eat here again and I will make sure to tell everyone what they did!

I went shopping at 9.30pm, they had the open sign on and the door was open, they are supposed to close at 10pm, the waitresses were watching a television program and they practically took me and two women out who also wanted to consume. They told us it was already closed. Terrible service

Still one of the best places for traditional Colombian cuisine in Connecticut, yet very accommodating to our friends who weren't quite ready for the full experience. Excellent selection at the bakery. As a side note, most Colombian baked goods use corn starch rather than flour, so they are naturally gluten free).

Vegetarian options: The bakery goods, arepas with cheese, and the fruit drinks are tasty options but otherwise, Colombian food is pretty heavy on the meat and light on vegetables.

Parking: Parking is shared with several other businesses, and the individual spots are a bit narrow.

I ordered their breakfast and it was terrible. Rice was hard and chewy. Did not include the beans as described. Only giving it 3 stars is because their empanadas are decent.
