Murphy's Townhouse Cafe Reviews
Surprisingly family-friendly for a bar! It’s our go to weekend hangout. There’s a whole separate area away from the main bar where you can let the kids loose (not literally… unless you’re into that). Tons of games: darts, table games, and enough fun to keep everyone entertained while you sip on a perfectly poured Guinness.

Celebrated our move to Stamford. Good food and drinks. John and Vince were very welcoming.

Murphy's Townhouse Cafe is a beloved institution in Stamford, known for its exceptional wings, Guinness, and warm, old-school vibes. The staff are praised for their friendliness, making it a go-to weekend hangout for families. There is a separate area away from the main bar where kids can play, along with games like darts and table games to keep everyone entertained. The food is generally considered ridiculously good, with favorites like wings, burgers, and the Reuben, which one customer describes as basically a soulmate. Meals are served on paper plates, emphasizing that the focus is on the delicious food rather than fine dining.
The menu offers a variety of options, including a satisfying Caesar salad, miso-marinated cod, and orecchiette with short rib ragu. While the lunch menu may not differ significantly from dinner, the overall atmosphere and hospitality make Murphy's a great place for a relaxing family meal or a lively night out. Although the burger patties could use some seasoning, the service is friendly and accommodating, ensuring a pleasant experience. With TVs for sports and music at a perfect volume, Murphy's is a fantastic spot for food, drinks, and fun.
