Very disappointing experience. After waiting over 10 minutes for service, people who arrived later were served immediately. When this was addressed politely, the bartender reacted aggressively and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and other substances.
Running a business requires professionalism and stability. If this place wants to be taken seriously, it should be managed by someone sober, respectful, and capable of treating all customers equally.

My food was great and our waiter was excellent, the beer was cheap for a bunch of it - its a pub; I dont get why people are hating, it was exactly what I was looking for and cheap in comparison to anything else in Stamford

Favorite bar in Stamford. They pour a very nice Guinness and have excellent grilled buffalo wings.

Not a good experience we had. The guy that took care of us either didn't want to be there or just didn't want to serve us. He was in a rush to get us in and out. He poured water into my husband's soda only apologized and didn't even offer to replace it or get him a new drink he just walked away!! We were still eating and kept asking if we were done yet, I was in the bathroom and my plate still had way more than half of my food in it and he was taking it away until my daughter said no my mom is still eating. He didnt even ask he was just going to take it. The food wasnt good at all, the orders were all wrong,
This truly was an awful experience.

Love this place! The staff is super friendly and always makes you feel like a regular, even if you’re not. The vibe is laid-back and welcoming — just a great place to hang out. Food is consistently solid, especially the staple items. It’s one of those spots you keep coming back to because it feels like home.

I was dining in with some friends at Murphy’s townhouse in Stanford. Food was great. All was going great till this “Karen” approached the table telling my group of people that the weed smell was strong from my table and asked if we were smoking. She said that here were kids in the restaurant . I was offended. I had no idea who she was. I figured if it was a customer who walked by. But this lady came back to my table and continued to harass and question us. My waiter was very kind and respectful. I was informed that it was the owner!!! And her name was Dawn. I will not give this establishment my business going forward. The fact the she came at me twice within 5 minutes. Horrible customer service from the owner.

Elite Chili Cheese fries! Tony is the best Bar man in Stamford. Like one of the lads. Always smiling & never annoyed at anyone. Love the guy.
Dan is an absolute Irish legend and has made Murphys a great place to have pints in.

Surprisingly family-friendly for a bar! It’s our go to weekend hangout. There’s a whole separate area away from the main bar where you can let the kids loose (not literally… unless you’re into that). Tons of games: darts, table games, and enough fun to keep everyone entertained while you sip on a perfectly poured Guinness. The food? Ridiculously good. Wings and burgers hit the spot, and my husband swears by the Reuben-it’s basically his soulmate. Just don’t expect fine china here. Everything comes on paper plates, because the food’s too good to waste time on dishes. Bonus: the owners are the kind of people you’d want to have a beer with-friendly, down-to-earth, and clearly doing it right. Highly recommend if you want a place where the whole family can eat, play, and pretend it’s not a bar. 🍔🍺🎯

Murphy’s is the only bar in the entire city that doesn’t suck. Cool people, good drinks, sports - check it out.
