Ocha Thai & Japanese Cuisine

I walked in super excited to get food a week ago and I saw that I was the only one in there. As soon as I walked in I didn’t feel welcomed and they closed the inside and outdoor door when I sat down. A man came to take my order wasn’t the nicest but I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. I ordered my food but something told me not to eat it, I asked the man for some extra siracha and he laughed at me. I decided to leave because I didn’t feel safe in the environment as a young woman. So don’t go there alone or when there’s no one there. The lady was nice and apologized for his behavior. But then asked where i worked and I had to go because the questions were invasive. Just not a great safe atmosphere for young ladies alone. Went to Mechas instead☺️

What an amazing place. We love coming to Ocha every time we visit Stamford…..a must for us.
The owners/staff truly make you feel appreciated and part of their family.
The menu is filled with wonderfully prepared options so we love trying something new each time though we do have our favorites.
This visit we started with the Thai Fried Calamari and the Baby Back Ribs for our appetizers which are and have been the best.
Our main course was made up primarily of the best sushi this side of the Pacific Ocean.
Crunchy dragon, Naruto roll (round), Crazy Friday, Sakura Roll and the Leo Roll left us fat and happy.
We completed our dining experience with the Thai Sticky Rice which was enjoyed by all.
If you are looking for the best authentic Asian cuisine Ocha Thai & Japanese Restaurant is the place to be.
We would definitely recommend to family and friends

Easily the best around in terms of food and service. Everyone working there is so friendly, fun AND helpful. The yakimeshi fried rice is INCREDIBLE.

The food was absolutely amazing! fresh, hot, and full of flavor! I had my doubts walking in since it was empty, but this spot is definitely a hidden gem right outside of downtown Stamford. The wait wasn’t long at all, and the sauce was incredible. Highly recommend if you’re in Stamford or on a work break and don’t want to deal with the long wait times at the downtown restaurants. I’ll definitely be back soon!

This place has been around for years and has always provided great Thai food at reasonable prices. On this visit, the service wasn't as top notch as usual, but the place was quite busy and there were a number of 'regulars' who commanded the majority of the attention - fair enough, I guess. I think this place is probably the best Thai restaurant for the food in the area.

We go with a group for lunch. They treat us like family, very welcoming and quick to serve. They offer dietary choices the suits the group well. Great food too!

I placed a pickup order on a brisk day after work. Sushi is fresh and mouth-watering! Perfect balance of salmon, avocado and rice. Tom Yum soup was hot, savory and light. The staff/sushi chefs were nice. I also loved the aquarium that I was preoccupied by for awhile after walking in. I recently moved down the street and this spot is definitely a go-to!
