Ocha Thai & Japanese Cuisine

I recently moved to the area and needed a new place to get sushi takeout. Ocha is quick and the staff is always very friendly. My mother couldn’t remember what dish she liked and they patiently helped her figure it out.

Highly recommend their Angel Roll & other speciality rolls.

Incredible sushi special rolls - the best in Stamford and maybe Fairfield County. The service is kind and attentive. Atmosphere is warm and casual for families but could also make for a great date night out. Amazing value as well.

Let me start by saying how amazing the staff is! My wife and I are moving into the building next door. She was painting all day as I was working and we wanted to try this place. Grab something to go. We walked in 30 minutes before closing and were greeted like we were regulars. Every staff member had a smile and were extremely helpful. We asked if they had menus we could look at and take home and the sushi chef came around to the front to help us.
After browsing the menu (everything looked good so it was a hard decision) we placed our order. Not once did we feel rushed or felt the staff was annoyed because it was so close to closing. That happens in other establishments.
As we waited for our order we looked around and chatted with the staff.
As we left they all welcomed us to the neighborhood.
Here is where they go above and beyond...
There was an item missing from our order. We didn't notice until we got home. My wife called and the woman on the phone (who took our order) apologized and said she would DELIVER the missing item! Are you kidding me? That's top-notch customer service! We were blown away by this. Especially since we weren't next door yet. We didn't live too far away but everywhere else would tell you to come back to get the missing item. I told my wife "They just got customers for life!"
The food was fresh and delicious. We can't wait to go back and sit down in the restaurant and enjoy our meal. We will definitely become regulars!

The Thai is not Thail, Massaman curry potatoes were not cooked, the waiter got us a boiled potato.

Where do I start? This restaurant has become my absolute favorite. My wife and I ordered here a few weeks ago and we had to come back and eat again. Food was amazing! The owners are the most sweet and genuine people I’ve ever met! I have been looking for a Thai and Japanese restaurant with really really good food and this restaurant has set the bar very high. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Will be coming back for more for sure! Thank you for being amazing to my wife and I, hope all is well with you both!

YES! I’m in Stamford on a business trip (solo) and would highly recommend this charming little restaurant. Like tuna? Order the Tuna Lover’s Roll! Very welcoming owner and staff. Great food, great service, great prices. Will be a ‘regular’ on my next trip down here.

Rated Ocha Thai at 4 stars (even) from my initial visit. It was a pleasant, uniquely charming atmosphere in its own way. The service was friendly, and I’d say adequately checked upon to make sure everything was satisfactory. The food; for a first time visit I was surprisingly impressed. It was fresh, flavorful, and enjoyable in comparison to many other sushi/Asian restaurants I’ve been too. They do offer a beer selection in addition to their regular beverage selection which I think pairs great when having sushi. Your orders served in a timely manner, no lengthy waiting even as it’s made fresh in your presence. Parking however can be a bit tricky as it’s located in Downtown Stamford, but will definitely revisit in wanting to try other dishes/specials considering they have both Thai and Japanese cuisine and their selection of rolls offered is pretty unique as well-which I will surely share those encounters even though they don’t offer an “All you can eat” experience to have dabble in various combinations.

I highly recommend this sushi restaurant in Stamford. I’ve been coming to this place for +10 years and I’ve tried most sushi restaurants in Stamford. Every time I bring someone new to the restaurant they become fans and visit often.I typically order sashimi and speciality rolls. I only trust this place for raw fish. The sakura roll is my favorite.You won’t be disappointed!

Brought 2 friends here for lunch last week and the food, service, ambiance and fish quality were top notch. We ordered and share the 3-roll lunch special, pad see ew, sashimi plate and papaya salad. All fresh and delicious and it was plenty for the 3 of us. Highly recommend and we’ll definitely be back to try more of the Thai dishes.

I’ve been to many Thai places and very few are great at sushi. I had the best green curry I’ve ever tasted as well as their “amazing” sushi roll. I will definitely return.
