Is a charming restaurant located within the Stamford town center mall.
We were served by Margarita who was an excellent hostess; very kind, charming, and attentive. One of the best servers I have had in many years. thank you Margarita for an amazing experience.

Pleasantly surprised! I don’t know what all these other reviews are talking about, the food was actually really good. I’ll admit I was skeptical at first but it ended up being gas. Although the atmosphere was alright (interesting music choice), the food is extremely flavorful, savory and spicy. My new spot. Try the noodles and chili wantons, so good.

Pork fried rice was bland. It lacked normal ingredients like onion, peas, etc. very disappointing.
Warning: for those who can’t eat MSG, be careful. I paid my price. Review came a day late because I was sick. I react to MSG pretty bad, almost like before I can finish my meal… I got upset stomach immediately and that didn’t go away until 12 hours later.
1) menu: for those who really expect to have real Chinese, you can turn around already. There is no more real Chinese dish here. Owner and menu has changed 2 years ago. Don’t come here based on old reviews
2) Food: none of the four dishes I ordered were cooked right. Missing significant ingredients or steps. Dan Dan Noodle was using the wrong type of noodle. Pork belly smells wrong and they obviously didn’t season it and then fry before the stew, the sauce tastes thin and off too. The fish and chongqing chicken basically used same cooking ingredients and tastes no difference, and the amount of MSG they put in is insane… which caused me sick immediately.
Please please please, if you use MSG, please note it CLEARLY on the menu coz there are people who can’t eat this!!!!

Used to be very good. Been going there for years.
But the last 2 times, we were disappointed our favorite dishes are no longer offered. Tried other dishes = AVERAGE.

Sat at the bar and ordered a light dinner, loved the soup dumplings, Dan Dan noodles, and fried chicken. The spicy cauliflower special was also quite tasty. I’ll be back soon!

I’ve been coming here for a while and ordering the Bamboo Flounder Fish pretty regularly, usually 2-3 times a month. I love it, but I’ve noticed lately that there’s way more breading than fish. It feels like I’m eating mostly breading now—like 92% breading, 8% fish. I was really disappointed with my order today and just wanted to mention it. I hope it’s something that can be looked into.

I visited Peter Chang with my family last night, and unfortunately, it wasn’t the best dining experience. While the food had some high points, there were several issues that made the evening less enjoyable. One of the main concerns was the timing of the dishes—our food came out at different intervals, which left some of us with cold dishes by the time everything arrived.
The restaurant’s aesthetic was decent, though hearing Latin music in a Chinese restaurant was a bit surprising. While it’s not something I’d typically expect, I assume there was a reason for this choice. It didn’t exactly add to the experience for me, but it wasn’t a deal-breaker either.
Our server was very kind and did her best, but there seemed to be a bit of a language barrier. I’ll give grace on that because learning takes time, and she was as helpful as she could be.
As for the food, the flounder in hot chili oil soup was the standout dish. The fish was soft and mushy—perhaps that’s the intended texture—but it was seasoned wonderfully, with bold, spicy flavors, and arrived piping hot. I’d rate it a solid 4.5/5 and would definitely recommend it. The orange chicken was plated beautifully but lacked much flavor, making it an okay dish rather than memorable. The Golden Mountain chicken could have been great, but it arrived somewhat cold, which detracted from the overall experience. On the other hand, the dumplings and fried flounder were well-prepared, striking the perfect balance between softness and crunchiness.
Overall, Peter Chang provided an okay experience, but it wouldn’t be my top choice for hosting family or grabbing a quick bite. The long wait for food and lack of consistency in temperature were disappointing, especially given how the restaurant was when it first opened. With a few adjustments, it could reclaim its former reputation, but as it stands now, I’d consider other options before returning.

Peter Changs, as soon as I walked in I knew I should have turned around. There were only 3 other tables eating in a large restaurant. Staff was friendly and seemed to be trying their best. However , it was the worst food I have ever eaten. No, not kidding. Even my kids refused to eat. The dumplings were piping hot on the inside, extremely dry and cold on the outside. Main courses were even worse, food was hot in the middle and cold on the outside and around the edges. Every dish was like this.. the meat has a sear mark but was soggy? How does this happen? A Microwave… I do not like leaving bad reviews, I feel terrible for the staff to look people in the eye and lie.. just gross
Save your money and your stomach.

Disappointed with the food. We ordered many different dishes. All were piping hot in the inside and cold outside. My plate was broken and my cup chipped. Very unsatisfied with the food. However, on another note our server Angela was very attentive and apologetic. Her service was good.

We made it a point to visit this restaurant almost every time in the area. It has a welcoming atmosphere, and the roasted Peking duck is our favorite. The scallion bubble pancake is a fun addition. Our usual choices include Xiao Long Bao soup dumplings, Mongolian beef, golden mountain chicken, sea bass, lion's head meatballs, steamed shrimp with garlic vermicelli, and beef chow fun. Their brown rice is actually wild rice, and we like it. Since we’re not fans of spicy food, we haven’t tried the spicier, numbing dishes on the menu. I highly recommend this place for a sit-down dining experience.
