My wife and I had a wonderful experience at The Royal Green in Stamford, CT this past weekend, in celebration of our 40th wedding anniversary. We had been there once before, although it was over a year ago, not long after the restaurant opened. We enjoyed it immensely, and so we wanted to return for this special occasion. Everything was superb: the ambience, the food, and the service. The beginning of our dinner was propitious; our server for the evening came by to greet us, and we immediately recognized each other. We exchanged “I know you” looks and comments and then proceeded to recount snippets of the conversations we had shared at our first dinner there many months before. We were all delighted! It was like a mini-family reunion. Our server was Anne Marie, and she could not have been nicer. She was so knowledgeable, pleasant, and accommodating, and she made the evening even more special for us. We started dinner with the Maryland crab crumble appetizer. Wow, was it good! My wife, who had ordered a fish special the last time we were there, would not pass up steak this time around, and she ordered the barrel cut filet mignon with béarnaise sauce. It was superbly prepared and she had no problem finishing every bite. I had the bone-in ribeye and it was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. We ordered our favorite sides and finished dinner with the steakhouse cheesecake (she) and a special chocolate pot de crème (me). It was a splendid way to end our evening. And, Anne Marie made sure that we enjoyed every moment. She is the best! We are looking forward to our next celebration there, and vising Anne Marie again.
This was our fourth visit to this fabulous establishment. The service is consistently professional and prompt. Their chops and steaks are always the finest cut and always cooked to perfection. When you throw in a beautiful lawn beyond this place is a real gem. ♥️♥️ Stevie J Lo
We had a wonderful Father's Day celebration at The Royal Green and our server, Ann Marie was outstanding
The Meat orders were overcooked twice! Sent it back First time and delivered second time f veal chop as o recooked as the first.
The Royal Green is a gem! Great drinks, delicious food, and extraordinary service. Great setting for a dinner with friends or a romantic meal. Overlooking the Sterling Farms golf course and manicured green fields, this place has it all!
Our first time was last Winter and the food was superb. Tonight it was not. We had the Prix Fixe dinner theatre menu. The salad was fine, the steak was overcooked and tough ( lots of grizzle ) and the desert was ho hum. We were very disappointed.
From the clubby atmosphere to professional and friendly service, only the cuisine tops everything else!!
From a friendly, helpful greeting through a lovely meal it was delightful. Old fashioned Connnecicut ambiance. Great pre-theatre...quick but not rushed. I will be back.
Dined at bar before going to Curtain Call play. As usual, food was excellent. Makes for an affordable, perfect evening— dinner and a show.
The staff was extremely professional and excellent in every way. The food was well below the quality and execution we expected. My wife had the pasta with vegetables which is on the menu and it was made with frozen vegetable blend! Had no taste and was extremely disappointing. Our special app which was scallops over cous cous was just bland and totally uninteresting. It seems that there really isn't a true Chef in the kitchen, I don't know but that seems to be the feeling we got. I hope they step up their game, I would love for it too be successful.

Myself, my husband and daughter ate at the Royal Green last night to celebrate my Birthday. The staff was super nice and accommodating. I wanted a more quiet table and they seated us in the lower room which was wonderful, our server Andrew was extremely helpful and had such a nice friendly demeanor. The food was delicious and very fresh. We all loved our dinners. We had a carrot cake bread pudding for dessert which was delicious and the manager actually gave it to us complementary for my birthday, which I thought was so nice! I highly recommend this restaurant and we will be definitely be dining there again!
Although the food was very good and the wait staff was very pleasant, she was assigned more tables than she could handle. We were seated for 40 minutes before she even took our order. Also we were seated outside the main dining room which was disappointing and not comfortable
We went on a snowy night with two other couples. Had an excellent time! Alan, our server, was competent and very personable. The menus had a good range of options. Portions generous and the food quality/taste very good. Full bar with a modest, but well selected and fairly priced wine list. Royal Green has a lovely and well appointed space. It's located just to the North of the 18th green of the Sterling Gold Course off Newfield Avenue in a lovely,, colonial style building.
I have been wanting to try Royal Green. It is a beautiful restaurant and the food was great. It just needs more traffic.
Our first visit to the Royal Green was quite pleasant. The restaurant is charming and the staff was exceptional. I had a Watermelon salad and my wife had Clam Chowder for apps and both were excellent. The bread and the relish served with it were very good! Our mains were Branzino and a Strip Steak special. The Branzino was excellently served filleted and delicious, my steak was very flavorful but a bit on the tough side. The sides that were served were all properly prepared and quite tasty. Dessert was a bread pudding that just melted in your mouth. All in all, our server Alain was very friendly and attentive and the food experience was good overall, we will definitely give this hidden gem another try in the near future
