we decided to come to Sign of the Whale to try it out and we were very happy. Everything was really good. The area is really nice too. we're hoping to go next time and the roof deck will be open. That might be a nice experience. I tried the sushi which was very good and I also had a burger, which was also really good. my husband got the pasta dish with seafood in it. Everything was delicious. Free parking in area

We came here last night for drinks after dinner and the manager and our server Nick were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. They found out it was my husband and brother in laws birthday and they went above and beyond to make it special by surprising us with cake and drinks. Nick was awesome throughout the entire night. Pizzas were delicious. We will definitely be back!!!

Last night, Signs of the Whale provided my significant other and me with one of the our finest restaurant experiences. The atmosphere was lively and energetic, the food was extraordinary, and the staff was very knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. I would recommend The Sign of the Whale to anyone who appreciates fine food, exceptional service, and a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Additionally, I rarely take my time to right a review, but in this case, I felt the establishment and the very hardworking and professional staff deserved each of the 5 Stars I provided in this rating.

My wife and I were in Stamford for the night and decided to try SOTW. The food was good - not great. My real issue was the service. The guy waiting on us got my (specialty) drink wrong, served us food without utensils and for each we had to flag him down a few times, which was not easy. He seemed more intent on talking to the other wait staff at the end of the bar. And to be clear - the place was near empty. His co-workers had to get his attention for us. BUt the worst part is they present you with the bill electronically as the wait person stands over you. The smallest % it offered from the choices was 18%. I just couldn't, with the bad service. I wanted to give 15% but honestly had trouble with the handheld, and with him standing there, I am not certain if I gave 15%, $15 or 15 cents. And I apologize to the waitperson if it was the latter - I would never do that but it is a bad system. And I don't want to discuss with him on the spot why I am looking for a lower %.

Top notch food made with style and served expeditiously great scenery music and vibe the staff and the managers are outgoing and engaging to sure customer service is at its highest dante and James who is part of management even went above looking forward to the Christmas pop up 🤞🎉🎉
We brought friends on a rainy day for brunch for a fun vibe and good food. Missed the mark in both. It was noon and empty. There was a leaky roof and they sat us right near the buckets of water. They told us they did not have coffee because they were out of coffee filters for days. The food was cold. We had to keep asking for sides that did not come and finally had the bus boy ask because the server did not check on us. Food was not great. Just a big fail.

Our server was great and food very tasty however it seemed management did not schedule enough servers for inside dining. Unfortunately, when the rooftop dining/ bar area closed due to change in weather all patrons headed to interior dining resulting in service delays because only one server was scheduled inside. Due to the large increase in covers, Bartenders had to leave their station to assist our server. There also was a major football game on the TV which added to the amount of food and drink covers hence increasing service delays Despite this, overall experience was good

I would give zero stars if there was an option. We went there with another couple to celebrate their recent engagement and I put this in the reservation. Upon arrival we checked in, but no one asked what the special occasion was or if we had anything specific we wanted to do. We were then seated but never seen for about 30 minutes. We finally just grabbed someone random and she ended up being a bus girl, but she said she would take our order for us until a server was assigned, so we ordered drinks and two appetizers. The appetizers were mediocre at best and very expensive however, the drinks were fine. We then had to flag her down again to get a second round of drinks which was not her fault since she's wasn't our actual server. We ended up getting annoyed enough to the point we just asked for the check and went to a different restaurant for dinner because we were not assigned a server and we're just sitting there baking in the sun. I recommend eating somewhere else because the appetizers we had weren't great and you could get something of better value elsewhere.

I've been here a few times and it's never consistent. First 2 times I went it was bad service so I give it a break and try again a few months later it was better and I enjoyed so I tried to go again and it was back to poor service. They advertise things on Instagram so you go for the theme and waitresses don't know what that is for example shot a clock but every other table was given shots but my husband and I. Also we get bottomless for 90 minutes and our waitress was back 4 times within that time and lost for the majority of the time.

Unfortunately, this restaurant does not allow a reservation to be made for outdoor seating. The food is good. The waitstaff was attentive. Indoor seating is pretty much a sports bar though, which is not what we were looking for. We checked in for the reservation and were seated inside.
