Acapulcos Mexican Family Restaurant & Cantina

My favorite Mexican restaurant. We live out of state now but recently went back to Stratford for a wedding. Made sure to eat here with friends while we were in town. One of the few things I miss in CT.

Personally the food here sucked. I ordered the seafood soup and my bf ordered the fried fish and both dishes were horrible my soup literally only had 3 shrimps and small amount of seafood when I mean small there was more broth in the bowl than seafood and when my bf asked the waitress if that’s all to the dish she said yes and she asked what’s wrong with it and I said there’s barely any seafood to the dish she processed to say I see fish and shrimp what more did you want. The fish tasted burnt and wasn’t cleaned well so it tasted too fishy. The only thing that tasted good was the water there.

My mother, father and me went today to try the place out. We had a giant appetizer that was probably meant for 4-5 people, and were absolutely stuffed. Going to be bringing some more people because everything there is amazing.

Highly recommend the queso and a drink. The chips are fresh and actually crunchy not floppy, and the queso is white cheese with jalapeños and peppers in it.

Easily going again, and the prices are to die for

The best as usual! Excellent service, food, thirst quenching drink & amazing servers. Adriana is the best. She made me a drink called the Airplane (el Avion) with mango margarita delish! 5 stars! ❤️❤️

Food was not good at all. The waitress (Maritza) was very rude and didn’t have patients. She had the nerve to say that “since she waited for us, now we have to wait for her.”?? we were a very big group and had to leave her pretty nice tip. That she didn’t deserve. It was my first time going there and my last. And none of the group do either I won’t ever go there again.

The food was good but the service could be better. I waited forever to get seated, and even longer to get asked my order. They did apologize, so that’s why I gave a 4 star.

The guacamole was bad, and the meat was served less than normal, plus it is very unpleasant to clean while the customers are still eating.And to top it off, they charge the highest Tip.Definitely super bad for the place, 4 less customers tonight.
