Tried Gaetano’s in Stratford for the first time- hands down the best authentic Italian deli in Connecticut. Everything was delicious, from grinders, cheeses, meatballs, chicken dishes… freshly made. Not to mention the free samples of anything you want to try while waiting. The staff is super friendly & makes you feel like family. Wish I lived closer- I’m hooked!!!
Catered my daughters baby shower yesterday and as usual everything was exceptional! Thank you!!

Gaetano's Deli in Stratford, CT is a must-visit spot for those craving serious Italian sandwiches. The fresh, fantastic food with huge portions will not disappoint. Everything is delicious, from grinders, cheeses, and meatballs to chicken dishes, all freshly made. The friendly and energetic staff provide excellent customer service and make everyone feel like family, creating a welcoming atmosphere similar to a NYC neighborhood deli. The "Stratford and Main" hero is an excellent chicken cutlet sandwich, with perfectly cooked cutlets and fresh mozzarella. Balsamic vinegar is added to balance the savory flavors of the cheeses and deli meats. Customers often praise the kindness and enthusiasm of the employees, who go above and beyond to ensure a positive experience. The staff’s old school approach, such as giving free grinder rolls to early customers, makes visitors feel appreciated. The atmosphere includes a small parking lot in the back and wheelchair accessibility to the front patio. While there is no indoor seating, some outdoor seating is available on the deck. Visitors also enjoy the fresh-made pasta salads and the welcoming vibe that makes everyone feel at home. This place is a gem where the owner personally ensures a memorable dining experience.
