I went to Gaetano’s for the first time this past week. I was talking to a coworker recently about how no place in CT can make a decent chicken cutlet let alone sandwich. I’m originally from Long Island so as you know if you’re from NY that it’s like night and day when it comes to subs or sandwiches. My coworker insisted I try Gaetanos and that I wouldn’t be disappointed. She was not only 100% right about the chicken cutlet and sandwiches but also the staff was 12/10. It’s rare to find a deli with incredible food and incredible staff. Everyone was so kind and generous and made you feel right at home. I will definitely be telling everyone about this place. My dog Jaymo also gives it 5 stars🫶🏼

Excellent Customer Service all around! I was the first customer there in the morning and they gave me free grinder rolls with my order! Free! I felt fantastic! That young man made my day! I had to call and thank him for their old school customer service. I love their fresh made pasta salads!!!

Consistently delicious! I love their longs John Wayne and the vegetarian. The only thing I wish they had was spinach instead of broccoli rabe. The long hots are amazing and they add the perfect amount of heat to any hero!

Top tier in here, and couldn’t for the life of me find a place that has that nyc Brooklyn vibe in an Italian deli, every place fell flat, the sec I walked in the smell of hanging meats and saw dust filled my nose I knew that sec this was it, this place screams nyc “Brooklyn” cold colds are just like it was when I was a kid, the guy mike in there is inviting and welcoming, came home and made a “HERO” what I ate as a kid and all it did was bring me back . This is my go to for Italian products..

If you are looking for the finest quality and selection go no further! Stepping in was like going back to one’s hometown in Italy. We were created with smiles and outstanding service. Couldn’t decide on which sub I wanted so they made me a selection of all of my favs after sampling a bite beforehand. This place is OUTSTANDING!!!

The staff at this deli are probably the best and friendliest people I've met working behind a counter. The sandwiches they made me were exquisite. We got the Leo D, and the Mona L. We had a special order for a BLT, which isn't on the menu, but they had the ingredients and made a great sandwich.

Randomly stumbled upon Gaetanos in Westport yesterday when looking for a place to get sandwiches before my son’s baseball game. Having grown up in Belmont Little Italy for the first 22 years of my life I was skeptical about the “Arthur Ave style..” claim on the sign. Well I can tell you they delivered and then some! Was warmly greeted, handled samples of delicious cheeses and more. They were too skeptical when I said I grew up on Arthur Ave but once we started chatting they knew I wasn’t BSing. Saw familiar faces and reminisced about life on Arthur Ave. The owners are warm and kind - the real deal keeping it true to the Arthur Ave spirit. Dare I say they might even do it better!!
I can’t say enough about the excellent food and service. If I ever find myself in Westport again I will certainly make a visit! Aside from my son’s team’s win, this nostalgic experience truly made my day and made me feel like I was back home in the Bronx when life was more simple. And yes, everything we ordered and sampled was delicious! No skin on the eggplant and bread from Addeo - doesn’t get any better!
