I Bought a very large, expensive tray of various holiday cookies and was so disappointed. Although there were different varieties, they all tasted the same having been mixed together on the same tray so the stronger ingredient took over. In my opinion, I feel as if they were bought somewhere else and packaged for Icing on the Cake. I probably wouldn't have bothered with a review if they weren't so expensive. They should have used a box with separate compartments. Do not recommend this bakery, at least for cookie trays.

Icing on the cake has become my go to for cakes. They are not a fancy location but there cakes are excellent and worth the cost. Moist and beautiful decorated. Vanilla with Strawberry mouse filling is perfection.

I paid $44 for a cake that had two thin layers, very heavy on the cake dough and literally fell apart. The layers slide off each other, we couldn't cut a decent slice. This supposed to be a delicious birthday cake with butter cream frosting, but wasn't everyone left it on their plate, 80% of the cake went to the garbage. I called Icing on the cake and they said it was my fault that the cake fell apart.

My favorite Bakery! I just had a Boston Cream donut from there and I don’t know whether to be happy or sad. It was the best donut I’d ever had and I don’t see how it could be improved upon so I don’t think I will ever have one that tastes better!😊

Icing on the Cake has become a household staple for my family. We order cakes from here for every birthday and celebration and no matter what flavors or types, they’re always amazing. We recently had a Black Forest cake and a cannoli filled red velvet and our guests kept asking where we get our cakes from. We cannot thank you guys enough for always being so pleasant and kind and for making delicious cakes every time!

I should be on a diet but I wound up eating one of the cookies and the linzer tart and both were amazing!
You guys were so wonderful and helped provide a big sheet cake for my aunt's 75th birthday celebration last year. Everyone at the party enjoyed it.
I like how you're not a fancy place and you stick to the basics and do it very well.
Ordered a vanilla whipped topping cake with strawberry filling sugar cookies crumbled on the outside for my girlfriend's birthday and it was delicious I wish I took pics haha it was gone before we had a chance and most importantly she loved it. It can be hard to find a good spot where the ordering is smooth. This my go to from here on out Thank you guys. See you soon

This was my first visit to Icing on the Cake in Stratford, CT. I bought 8 different items. I tasted all 8 items later that night. All were stale, bland and dry. Yup, stale, dry, with lack of even decent flavoring you'd expect from baked goods never mind bought at a bakery. The display cases were sparsely full which is a telltale sign there is slow turnover of goods. Overall the presentation, cleanliness, organization, variety and service was mediocre at best. There are better bakeries than Icing on the Cake.
I visited Ambrosia bakery, in Stratford, 3 days later and bought 8 different items. I tasted all 8 items later that night. All were fresh, mouth watering, palate & sensory exciting, with delicious taste you'd expect from a bakery. Ambrosia is immaculate, chock full of goods, fantastic selection, great & friendly service, very knowledgeable staff, and delicious products
