I opened up the container it was just nothing but rice. With the smallest pieces of oxtail, very tiny pieces spread out across it, no extra gravy given. it was more like I paid for bones than anything The oxtails actually had no type of flavor, no Jamaican Caribbean style flavor. I am very surprised because I love this place, but everyone is cutting back on this seasonings and it’s not fair to us as consumers who want Jamaican style oxtails because of the flavor. I guess they give you anything when order take out for delivery, which is not fair for the inflated price that you are paying.

I stopped at this little Jamaican restaurant for the first time and I was not disappointed.
I got some good salt mackerel with provisions. For those who don’t know, provisions consists of yam, banana, dumpling etc. I sat on the outdoor patio and devoured it in no time flat, it was that good. I will be going back to try the other foods. Compliments to the chef. The young lady that served me was very polite and took the time to tell me all the foods that were available. Sorry I forgot to get a picture of my meal, I was too hungry!! If you’re ever in Stratford, CT, please stop by.

I love this place! The food is excellent and the service is fast and friendly. They also have the coolest little gift shop with everything from Jamaican clothing to souvenirs and spices.

Based on our meal & service a week prior, we decided to return. Upon ordering, we asked for plaintains. The woman with the short blond hair told us they were out. What Jamaican restaurant runs out of plantains on a Saturday night! She said she would check with the chef for an alternative. She returned and still no answer about a different side dish. Again she said she’d check with the chef. Ten minutes past and still no answer. She wasn’t nice about it nor accommodating. We were looking forward to having some jerk chicken again but without just white rice as a side dish. We walked out hungry. Very disappointed!

If you want a taste of AUTHENTIC Jamaican food, this is the spot to go to!

The food is served hot and fresh, tastes amazing, and I never have an issue with the customer service.

Not only is the food amazing, but they have a section where they have other products you can buy that is from the island itself, and man it feels like a piece of Jamaica in the heart of Stratford lol. Definitely recommend!

Got soup and was in disbelief. Not sure what’s going on but the place needs a revamp and some love. It’s a staple in the community and would love to see it continue this way but I don’t know seems to have fallen off.
