This is quite a charming little restaurant. We went there for the first time last night. Our server and the staff are all quite delightful and the owner and his wife were both there sitting at the bar as well. I don't know if that's normal, but they happen to be there. We were told that the wife makes the bread and the bread was quite delightful.

I had a braised short rib ravioli with mushrooms and a double cream sauce that was delicious and my wife had pepperdale with a mixed meat ragu that was just ground meat with only a tiny little bit of sauce that could have been much better. Not sure what any of the other menu items might have tasted like, but since mine was delicious, it stands to reason that other things on their menu are quite yummy as well.

I'm sure we'll be back.

We had the most incredible dining experience at Geppetto Osteria e Bisteccheria in Torrington. From start to finish, every course was beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and perfectly portioned for sharing.

Our group of seven began with the meat and cheese board, which was an excellent introduction—thoughtfully curated, with high-quality selections that paired beautifully with wine. The next course was a showstopper: the quail dish was tender and rich, the Burrata creamy and fresh, the mussels perfectly cooked in a flavorful broth, and the vegetable appetizer a delightful balance of textures and flavors.

We then moved on to four different house-made pasta dishes, each one unique and delicious—true comfort food elevated to an art form. Following that, we shared the 24 oz steak, cooked to perfection with a beautiful crust and juicy center, alongside the pork chop entrée, which was equally impressive with deep, savory flavor.

Dessert was no afterthought here. We enjoyed the coconut and blueberry tart, the most delicate balance of sweet and tart; the classic tiramisu, light yet decadent; and the chocolate tort, rich and indulgent—the perfect finale to an unforgettable meal.

What made the night even more special was the warm and attentive service. Every dish was paced perfectly, allowing us to savor each course without feeling rushed. Sharing everything family-style made the experience feel celebratory and communal, just as dining out should be.

Geppetto is a true gem in Torrington—elegant but comfortable, with food that rivals any big-city dining experience. I cannot recommend it highly enough for anyone looking for an extraordinary meal.

We’ve been here before and enjoyed ourselves and the food, but tonight the service was sloppy and inattentive at best. Drinks came after apps which came at different times, 1.5 hour wait for entrees, plates not cleared and utensils not replaced. No check ins or apologies for delays. No one even asked if we wanted more drinks. Felt like we were a bother (and we voiced no complaints during long delay). Food was good but not sure we’ll go back just to feel like we’re not wanted.

Food was great, huge list of wine (wish pink barefoot Moscato was on there) prices were decent, luxury atmosphere, definitely makes you feel like you're in Italy, we really enjoyed the atmosphere and service, love the bread lol...we will definitely be back...thank you all

The service was non-existent. I wouldnt be able to pick my waitress out of a lineup if I was asked to. The portions were small and the ragu was SO salty. When I asked for a second glass of wine the waitress just refilled my glass which wasn't even finished yet to the same level she would have filled a fresh glass. Thats not an appropriate way to fill a wine glass unless I had already purchased the bottle. Dissappointed to say the least and I see no reason to go back.

We were in town for a gallery opening and stopped in.

The food was good. Not over done or over sweet.

Place is VERY Italian. Pasta was fresh. Rather small menu but it changes a lot. Very taverny vibe. Loved the bathroom wallpaper. Specials were delicious especially the pesto which tasted especially fresh. Sausage stuffed quail appetizer was very interesting and unique but very good. Seafood linguine was very good. Short rib tortellini was phenomenal. Service was excellent. Tarimisu with espresso was a perfect ending.

We all dine in many restaurants and collect good and bad experiences. Then there are times when the experience is not only excellent, but it turns into something unique that I would not easily forget. And this is one of those times. My husband and I tasted the passion in every dish. Everything was extremely good, excellent service to which was added a nice chat with the owners: a wonderful family that puts their passion and their history in everything they do. As an Italian, I can't thank you enough for making me feel at home!

Geppetto's is fantastic! Great drinks, delicious food, and an outstanding staff. The steak dish, while a bit pricey, is exquisite. The pastas are cooked perfectly, and the appetizers are generous.
