Spent a lot of time being ignored when all I wanted to do was be rung up for some convenience items. It happens they are busy. But kind of annoyed at a convenience fee that was added to my CC card. Pretty confident you can’t do that in CT.

It's called the Rusty General Store (next to the Rusty Nail Bar and Grill), but the store part seems to be more ceremonial. There were some token non-perishable groceries, but the main attraction is definitely the sandwiches. The store is on the site of the Burr's Mill, and a few yards from the Sue Grossman Still River Greenway. There even appears to be parking for the Greenway across the street. I had a BEC breakfast sandwich, and it was hot and eggy. The egg was perfectly proportioned to the roll, and would definitely go back for more or to try a lunch sandwich. They do have daily specials - the day I was there they were pushing a buffalo mac and cheese available on a sandwich or as a stand alone dish. The women at the deli were even kind enough to send my dog a piece of cheese when they noticed him being walked in the parking lot (an especially kind gesture because I did not plan to share my breakfast sandwich).They also have an ice cream station that serves local Peaches N Cream ice cream (although not particularly hopping in November). There is indoor and outdoor seating, and parking seems sufficient for the two businesses.

Love this place! We eat lunch and breakfast there all the time. The food is good but what we really love is the service. The counter person, Chelsea, always has a smile on her face. Something I don’t often see these days. She makes us feel so welcomed and she is so helpful when we have questions.Rusty General has it all, good food and home town feel plus service with a smile.
Every time I try and go they close at a different time. Sign on the door says 4, Google says 4 but tried to grab a sandwich and they closed at 2. Very inconsistent also if you walk in and they’re almost closing they do NOT want to serve you.
