Nice atmosphere with friendly staff and patrons. Food is a notch up from usual bar/tavern fare as orders are prepared individually on a grill behind the bar. Have had numerous burgers and they are quite juicy while prepared as ordered. Fries are crispy on the outside and creamy in the middle. My wife says the crispy chicken sandwich is the best she's ever had! Oh, the beer selection is adequate and cold. What more do you want? Torrington's version of CHEERS!

The Towne Tavern is definitely a local bar, a place where they know everybody's name - at least the regulars. Walking in immediately reminded me of Cheers, with all the patrons sitting at the bar, talking and laughing with the bartender. There are other tables available, but all the seating is high top. You order food and drink at the bar, and the food menu is written on the wall. It's mostly your typical bar food - fries, burgers, etc. It is all made to order, and burgers/sandwiches automatically come with potato chips. You can upgrade to fries. The mozzarella sticks were admittedly standard - they absolutely hit the spot if that's what you're craving. My burger was the first correctly cooked to requested temperature burger I've had in forever! It was juicy, cheese was sticking to the bun, and it was hot off the grill. Absolutely don't be put off by the fact it is a local bar - it's got good parking, and no one makes "outsiders" awkward. People even gave a friendly goodbye as we exited.

My son and I came here for lunch . Good choice ! The menu is simple with good tavern food. Bar setting and some tables. Very homey Mom and Pop. We both went with a patty melt and fries. So good , it was just what my we needed. It was my sons first time having a patty melt and he def enjoyed. This will be our new spot for burgers and things. Good lunch . Staff was also very pleasant

Okay it's not what I expected but it is off my bucket list. It's a small space a friendly bartender but I am not going to be back. For Drinks all they have is Wine, beer and soda No Mixed drinks, the food welp the guy has no gloves when doing the food he is touching everything with bare hands.
