My SIL loved this place because they are so friendly, remember your names the next time you come in... Unfortunately I was there for her memorial service but they did a great job.

After living in Torrington for over 20 years, my husband and I ate at the Winchester for the first time last night - we had always thought it was just a bar. So glad we found out otherwise! Such a pleasant surprise! Everything was absolutely top-notch. The dining room is beautiful, the service was excellent, and the food was divine. I would have liked the background music to be just a little quieter, but my husband liked it, so that was just a matter of personal taste. Such a lovely dining experience - we highly recommend it!

Food, service & atmosphere were all good. Price was suited to fine food, atmosphere, and service. The seats were good for 15 to 30 minutes. They've been that way for years. I think they would get a lot more business if they replaced the seating all around. This is why they only see us once every couple of years.

Booked The Winchester for my dadâs 80th birthday party and had a lovely time. Had the whole dining room to ourselves for the party. Got the buffet package meal: salad, bread, pasta and meatballs, soda/coffee. Very reasonable prices! There was an option for a higher price which included more food, but I cant remember what. Staff was Danielle and Carla and they were both awesome. Food tasted great. Brought our own cake and staff assisted with cutting and serving. Very helpful. Excellent customer service. Would go back again for another event like this one.

The owners are great ppl and sure as hell knows how to cook many different foods from allOver the world and have never had a bad dish and Iâve basically have eaten eveything on the menu Only place in town to get a surf n turf for a good price! Great cut of meat and cooked perfectly every time. As far as the rude none existing bar tenders that disappear for minutes on end doing god only can imagine, assembly drinking cause it seems like they are always drunk or possibly high. I was greeted with unpleasant faces and rude attitudes. Itâs unfortunate cause the owners are wonderful people and Ricky can cook his a$$ off but unfortunately the bar side is filled with typical small town raggy banter and âmost ofâ the bar tenders are rude and unprofessional when it comes toThe bar side. I shouldnât have to wait 20 minutes for a drink even if the bar is busy for one and there bar tenders arenât afraid of making it known to like what they say or leave. Horrible customer service on the bar side but If you want a nice place to eat go to the restaurant side cause the bar side may leave a bad taste in your mouth.

We have never been here before so we were excited. It was a buffet dinner. We got a medallion of steak, a piece of chicken, rice, ziti, carrots a salad and a roll. The only thing that had any flavor was the carrots and the roll. The chicken had zero flavor. The steak was overcooked, even the ziti and sauce was bland. We were so hungry we wanted to door dash food in. It wasnât just us, a lot of people at the event were complaining about the food too.We pre paid $35.00 a piece for 2 tickets to this event. We had a couple drinks and they charged us tax and tip on the whole amount, the ticket price and all. They said that was how they do it.This was the first and last time we will eat there!!We ended the night at twin colony diner for real food that tastes Delicious! They also oversold tickets to the event. There was over 60 people in there small room. Not enough tables some people ended up leaving before the event even started.

I wasn't impressed from the jump, I guess if I was looking to cut loose with a bunch of people looking to break all the rules of society, I would have been excited, however, I was looking to impress my girlfriend with a high-class dinner at a high-class restaurant,, the bar area gives a bad smell test.. Walking into the restaurant, i thought,, ok,, this is classy.. There were no customers when we walked into the restaurant at dinner time and i thought,, lucky us, we will get undivided attention, unfortunately, we got no attention until we paid our $100 check. Not once was i asked how my dinner was from bite one until I finished my meal, not once!! Totally unacceptable! We were an afterthought and a distraction to all employees who must have been partying at the bar as we ate. I ordered the veal parmesan with bow tie pasta (lol!! Bow tie pasta?? No angel hair pasta??, why not just serve potato chips?? Again, totally unacceptable.) The veal was thick and moist, I want thin, big and dry, moistened by the sauce. It was like they ordered out from the 5 and dime and served us that. Guess what? I don't recommend. Save yourself the frustration and lots of money, the restaurant is an after thought, their only concern is their bar. I will spare them and not read this review on my radio program, definitely not worth my time.
