I'm not sure why this restaurant doesn't have more favorable reviews as we've been on a quest to find a new favorite Chinese restaurant and this one checked several of my boxes. I compare each restaurant based on a few staple items we normally choose - beef & broccoli, crab rangoon, egg rolls and spare ribs. The egg rolls were excellent and the spare ribs were meaty. The sauce on the ribs had decent flavor. I didn't love the beef in the beef & broccoli. Something about the texture, but it was still tender and the veggies were plentiful and cooked well. The brown sauce was also tasty. My daughter liked it very much. She is also the crab rangoon aficionado. These are different here. They are in a phyllo dough rather than a wonton shell, however they had nice flavor. While this was a takeout order , I am interested in dining in, as it has become very difficult to find a Chinese sit down lately. We will return.

I order from Hong Kong Restaurant at least 1 time a week. I usually order chicken wings, Shrimp fried rice, and General Tsao's Chicken. These 3 items have also been delicious each time I order. The wings are really good size and General Tsao's chicken is soo goood!. I recommend this Chinese restaurant in Wallingford.

Just ordered for the first time. Drove there from Meriden. Got home, no boneless spare ribs in the bag. Called and they tried to dispute my claim. Won't go back!!

Ribs were tough like leather ordered two combinations only got one and was only charged for one. Customer service is terrible the gentleman that works the counter is depressing to talk to. You almost feel like your bothering them when you get food. Down hill terrible

Please don't order through Uber Eats. Wish I could give less than one star. We ordered for a group- more than $100 order. They forgot a couple items- we called and refused to help or make it right. And they weren't very nice.
General says is SUPER spicy. The crab racoon tasted like cooked in old oil. Not the best

Not sure why Hong Kong has a 2.5?! Hong Kong has THE best General Tso Combination plate. Seriously, just look at my picture it's amazing. In the past I've also ordered sushi and shrimp fried rice and ALL were delicious. If anyone asks me for Chinese food recommendations I always tell them to go here. The service is quick, portions are great and prices are reasonable. For example, a General Tso combination plate comes to about $12 with tax. I do wish Hong Kong would do sit-down service again because they have a nice dining area. In the meantime you can call in your order or order online through their website.
