I didn't even know this place existed until my dad's girlfriend brought us there I had my daughter and my nephew and they got tons of candy they had homemade looking great desserts I loved the atmosphere it was a great place and I recommend it to anyone who's aroundKid-friendliness: It's a store almost made for kids they get to get a bag and pick out the candies people are very nice

The best! The cupcakes are amazing and so yummy! Staff is helpful and kind. I would definitely suggest a visit! Great local spot!

I was exploring downtown Wallingford, when I walked by this place. Well, it looked way too good to pass up, so I went in! Lots of fun old fashioned candies, etc. But the real goods were at the front; cupcakes and amazing looking desserts! The two girls working there were super sweet and engaging. I ended up getting a razzberry lemon cupcake and the lava cake. The cupcake was light and fluffy with a mild lemon flavor and a razzberry gel/goo (?) that came in a little plastic tube that I pumped into the cupcake when I was ready to consume the cupcake. It was very good. The lava cake; that was amazing! It was huge, so I proceeded to have it over the next 5 days of my stay in Lexington; a little bit each day as it was very rich, dense and divine! I'm glad I don't live here as I might become a regular customer! I'd go back next time I'm in Wallingford!

If you are looking for something sweet, Mr. D's is the place to be. We were checking out the shops in the Wallingford Center and popped in to Mr. D's just to look. Well, we just HAD to get a few things. Mr. D's has candy, ice cream, cakes, chocolates, bubble tea and much more. We were sold on the cupcakes and they were so delicious. We got the Lemon Raspberry Cupcakes, Toffee Cupcake, I Love You Cupcake and Pumpkin Cheesecake Cupcake. These cupcakes were packed with flavor with fillings and candy baked in. The Lemon Raspberry Cupcake was a lemon cake with raspberry filling and a pipette of more raspberry. The Toffee Cupcake had toffee bits baked into the cake and topped with toffee and butterscotch drizzle. The I Love You Cupcake had cheesecake baked into a red velvet cake. The Pumpkin Cheesecake was my favorite, cheesecake baked into the cake, topped with cream cheese frosting. Oh, and the cheesecake had chocolate chips, yum!The staff was so friendly too. We asked about many of the cupcake flavors in their case since these weren't basic vanilla or chocolate.The shop is very spacious. There are tables and chairs to enjoy ice cream and other treats. There is a parking lot out front, but it gets busy. Mr. D's is in the perfect location to be the go-to dessert spot after a meal from the many restaurants near by.

We went for an ice cream and dessert . The staff was very friendly and informative about the new ice cream flavors and cupcakes . Gave us testers of a few flavors. We had the watermelon sherbet and the salted caramel and the pumpkin cheesecake ice cream .. Got a few cupcakes to go absolutely delicious.. Their were several people but we didn't wait that long at all . A great place for ice cream or dessert after dinner .. enjoy Chris M

SO CUTE! I had one of the to-go ice cream cups (peanut butter), absolutely delicious. Had all kinds of sweet treats and even candles too (which smelled amazing)

Much more limited selection of candy since Covid, but we go there for the cupcakes! They are always fresh and always delicious. On this visit we got a new one, peanut butter and fluff- so good. Another new one for us was a chocolate raspberry with the compote in a tube you squeeze into the center of the cupcake yourself. New pic posted with all the cupcakes we got.

Salted Caramel is my all time Favorite! I like to pick out a variety to take home, and they are always fresh and spot on flavor combos; but I always wish I had just one more of the absolutely perfect salted caramel! Haha

A little disappointed, reviewed website before I went and pictures were very inviting but upon arrival the store was very empty of the candy selections. The ice cream we settled for was very good though.
