Cool venue and good food. Abysmal service, but it seemed like a randomly very busy Thursday, server seemed like he was doing his best, but it also seemed like he had too many tables. Burrata salad, duck, and Library were all delicious, and the PBJ Old Fashioned was absolutely fantastic!

Calamari was superb, excellent sangrias, and even more delicious pasta entrées. Staff is very nice and accommodating. Perfect for a Friday night date or catching up with friends. Never a bad meal here :)

Great restaurant. We had the duck and waffles appetizer as well as the meatballs. Both were outstanding. We had the short rib and crab cakes. Both were very good. The lava cake for dessert was excellent.

Beautiful restaurant and great ambiance. Unfortunately meal was not as delicious as in previous visits. Cheese board appetizer was not well balanced; would have liked more cheese and salmon dish was a bit too salty. Both were beautifully plated though taste counts.

Our group of eight ranged in age from 8 to 101, and we were all happy with our experience The Library. I had the duck breast and ordered it medium-rare; it came medium rare with vegetables that had not been burned, and tasted fine. The server was polite, friendly, with an eye for details. Also patient with people cursed with hearing difficulties. The noise level is well under control. It is far from cheap, but very good value for the money you spend. Just one suggestion: If any in your party have trouble walking, drop them off. There is plenty of parking available, but some of it is moderately distant. Overall, it was the best fine dining experience that I have had for a very long time -- much better than the most recent one, in Arizona, where the best part of the dish was the mashed potatoes and cost 1/3 more.

We went to The Library for the first time last night and overall we’re very impressed. The building itself is beautiful and the atmosphere was great! We were originally sat in the “back room”. With gray walls and no decorations it felt like a banquet hall. It was so loud that I knew I wouldn’t enjoy my meal. When I asked the hosts if we could be moved to the front, they made it work despite how packed the restaurant was! This completely turned around our experience. Our server was also very understanding and attentive throughout the entire evening. We tried the crab dip on special, and it was one of the best I’ve ever had! So much lump crab and the old bay crackers were a perfect compliment. My partner tried the special gnocchi while I enjoyed the lobster pappardelle. Both were incredible and generously portioned. Cocktails were also amazing - great variety and loved the unique options.Overall, I would definitely recommend giving this place a try! I know we’ll be back - next time we’ll just request the front room in advance.Parking: There’s an area to park on the street right next door! Even on a Saturday night, we had no problems.

We went there for Valentine's Day and the place was not busy at all so we expected great service. There was one long stem red rose at the table for any female diners, which was a nice touch. Which is still alive. We loved the atmosphere of the restaurant and the historical look of the place but that is where it pretty much ended. We were never offered bread when we sat down I had to finally ask for it when our food came 30 minutes later. It took forever to get my drink and again it was not busy when we were there. When our food finally came my wife had the Zuppa de Pesce and the calamari was rubbery and the sauce tasted liked it came out of a jar. I had the duck and was not impressed it was bland and I expected more of the black cherry glaze instead of what seemed like a teaspoon's worth on it. The best part of the dish was the sweet potato mash, and I am not a fan of sweet potatoes. Again for this being a slow crowd for Valentine's Day we were expecting a better experience. We had high hopes for The Library but unfortunately we will not be back.

We were seated at a top heavy table in a room that was just sooooo noisy. They should consider adding some noise reducing tiles or “art” to help keep it from getting so crazy loud in the small space. Otherwise it was very lovely and the meal was great!

Such a lovely Building. We made a Reservation and they seated us in the back Room. I wasn't pleased with it because we felt like we were in a Cafeteria. Had to ask to dim the lights for a little atmosphere. I wanted the feeling of an old charming Library but did not get it. Not one picture on the wall. We asked to move to another table twice but were told they were on a Rotation basis. The Service was very good. The food especially the Octopus was also very good but that back room really lacks atmosphere. At least have some old pictures of the Library or some decor in the Room.

The Library is very much a mixed bag. The building itself and the interior has a great, warm feeling to it, and there's even a working fireplace, which adds a lot of ambience. That being said, the nature of the building and it's architecture means it's very loud. When I went, I wouldn't say it was very busy, but it was still hard to hear what my partner was saying at times. The service was fantastic. Our waiter was attentive and I never ran out of water. On top of that, it was my partner's birthday, and while she prefers not to receive any special attention, they offered to comp one of her drinks. It was an incredibly nice gesture and totally unexpected. With all that out of the way, it's time to talk about the food. For a bistro, it feels a bit confused. The aesthetic lends itself to a higher standard of dining, but the pricing was surprisingly reasonable. At the same time, the menu doesn't really fit the standard of simplicity you'd expect from a bistro. On the menu are things like steak crostini served with a mushroom and gorgonzola cream sauce right next to loaded nachos. This resulted in me pouring over the menu, confused as to what dishes were supposed to be their specialties.I ended up going with the Library Burger, while my partner chose the New York Strip. I considered getting something higher brow, but I wasn't in the mood for anything on the menu, and I figured a burger would be a good test to see what their base quality is. Unfortunately, I wasn't very impressed. It tastes fine, but the bun was soggy and the flavors of the sharp cheddar and their signature sauce seems to cancel each other out. It was nothing to complain about, but it wasn't memorable. My partner's New York Strip was a bit better, but the Bordelaise sauce was underwhelming and the steak was nothing special, and if I'm being honest, 35 dollars was a bit much for something I could do better at home. Again, it was fine, but not something I'd feel compelled to try again. In the end, I could be convinced to come back and give the place another try, but I still think it'd work better with a more focused menu. Either go simple, or lean fully in to being high scale.Google won't do half stars, but it's really a 3.5 for me.
