I have ordered takeout sandwiches in the past and found them to be large and tasty, though expensive. I have not had any in the last 2 - 3 months but was shocked today when I got the sandwiches home after pickup. They were small: on each of two sandwiches maybe three very thinly sliced pieces of ham, one thin slice of cheddar cheese, tomato and lettuce, mayo on a hard roll. Frankly, I was shocked how meager they were and for a well-above-average price. I will not order takeout sandwiches again from 9 Main!

Very good food and drinks, friendly service. Indoor and outdoor tables available. The capucino and mocha were excellent, as were the breakfast sandwiches. Good bakery selection. We keep returning here whenever we're in Litchfield county, highly recommended.

Enjoyable breakfast classic sandwich.
Good coffee. I also wanted to buy a ceramic mug for my collection but they wanted $35 for them. That's a bit out of my budget range for a mug.

Its a shame that I spent almost $70 for 4 breakfast WRAPS that were smaller than the length of my hands, which are on the small side. 2 of the wraps were vegan and contained no eggs or meats and still about $16 and change for each. If the portions were larger or the food was incredible I might think it's fair however, that is not the case. They also charge a service fee of sorts and blame the current economy for their increases. An excuse that has lasted 5 years for them. Gas has been steady, eggs have come down along with produce and other things. The real reasoning for their pricing is that they're in a high class neighborhood and know none of the people with money will say anything about the cost. For anyone who lives outside of that neighborhood, I recommend avoid buying anything from there and their market. Nothing there you can't make at home with organic ingredients for a fraction of the price.

The Smithy Cafe is a charming in welcoming shop market & eatery located in New Preston connecticut. We opted for breakfast on this particular trip with the shaved steak burrito filled with eggs potatoes spinach aioli highlighting our breakfast choice. We also had a classic sandwich which was on a toasted English muffin. Both of the sandwiches were delicious and filling and we decided that we would definitely stop on our way out through the western part of Connecticut to grab a bite to eat at this cafe. Across the street is a market that was closed on this Sunday morning however we will be back to check it out. I highly recommend you stopped in.

The Smithy Express is a delightful specialty drink with nascent dust including warming spices. Food is fresh and flavors pair well. Drew and staff are gregarious and welcoming.

Alyssa and the team at 9 Main, Smithy Cafe went above and beyond for our event, catering to every need with delicious options for vegetarians, gluten-free guests, and even the toughest food critics. Alyssa’s responsiveness and detailed proposal made planning easy, and their food truly impressed everyone. Highly recommend them for any event!

I was so uncomfortable waiting for a coffee. There's no space to wait, customers getting in each other's way, staff walking back and forth with no politeness. An excuse me would help. Waited and waited for my coffee order when someone finally asked me if I was waiting. The person who took my order went to the garbage, pulled out my slip and handed it to the barista. Definitely not work to $7+ !
