Service was slow and we were never offered anything more than water. The food was good (had crab fritters and burgers), but nothing exceptional about either. The ambience was stunning and the volume of the restaurant was low, so that was a plus.
The Mayflower delivers everything they promise. The food was fantastic. If you go the Smokey Onion Dip is a must have.
A very nice and elegant spot with great service (particularly Kathleen), but the price point for brunch far exceeds the value of the food/beverages. One example: $13 for a double espresso. Not making that up. The dining patrons are mostly well-heeled guests of the Inn, but c'mon.
We went for a Birthday Brunch for my friends Gilmore girl inspired birthday weekend. Kathy our server was excellent, very personable and attentive. Food was delicious, we had the lobster roll with caviar and the avacdo toast and a side of brussel spouts. We enjoyed the ambience and hospitality. It was overall a wonderful experience and a beautiful property.
We ordered bread that we didn't receive. We reminded our waiter when he brought our entrees, he apologized and it was another twenty minutes before we finally got it - well after we had finished our entrees. It was 10.00. I know some restaurants have started charging for bread and putting it on the menu as though it shouldn't be complimentary, and I think it's tacky and cheap. This is an Auberge resort...make the bread complimentary, and make sure it arrives before the entrees and not after.
Outstanding brunch experience. The entire staff from the car valet to the wait staff were friendly and engaging. We were made to feel welcome from the very start. My wife ordered the mussels which were on “special”. The portion was enough for two and they were the best anywhere she had been since a seaside visit to Biarritz, France. The burger was outstanding, a 10 out of 10. Bravo to the chef. Atmosphere was charming. Well worth the hour+ drive to dine there.
Absolutely stunning and delicious. From the moment we arrived to the time we left, highly recommend.
$120.00 seems awfully high for two nice but not sensational sandwiches. We did each have one glass of house wine and one coffee each. Service was excellent but the Garden Room looks a little tired and the small stand of ordinary house plants was underwhelming.
The service is warm and welcoming, the food beautifully presented and delicious, and the atmosphere comfortably elegant.
Everything we imagined it would be. Thank you Mayflower team for serving so well, being so kind, and making us, with 8mo twins, feel like very special guests. It was a delicious and beautiful lunch before leaf peeping.

A beautiful place, every corner of the Mayflower Inn feels special. The food was exceptional and the service truly top-notch. Perfect place for a relaxing, meal.
The restaurant is over priced for the amount of food you get, $9.00 for 3 slices of bread, $12.00 for a bottle of Pellegrino and $40.00 for a lobster roll. The lobster roll had about 2 ounces of lobster meat. The waitress was rude when my wife asked her for champagne glass for her champagne.
I was very disappointed with the level of service my party experienced at the Mayflower. Firstly they changed our reservation with any real warning. Then the day of our reservation there was a sign said closed for private event. Then once we were there we called and found out the event was over just an hour before our reservation so luckily we were able to come in. However, our reservation was for the Garden room, but because they had not cleaned the space entirely from the previous event we were moved to the covered porch. Then we were given not the full menu, but one that had roughly 5 items on it because of a wedding that was to take place later that weekend. Our waitress came by once to check on us after we had ordered. And we had to go searching for her later to get our bill as we had something else to get back to. It was just very disappointing especially since my friend and I were looking forward to a nice luncheon.
I was really disappointed by my experience here. I had to wait a very long time at the host stand (even though I had a reservation). The food was bland and, in my opinion, overpriced. While my server was quick and efficient, it took 15 minutes to get my card back after trying to pay. Meanwhile, 4 or 5 staff were wandering around the dining room. Unacceptable for a property which holds itself out to be such a high standard.

The atmosphere was great and everyone was extremely attentive. They knew it was our anniversary and made a point to wish us well. The food was really good except my husband thought his fried chicken sandwich was only ok. There was too much sauce that made it very messy to eat. I would definitely one back but next time I would go brunch.
