So I just wanted to update a previous review. We had been to the Whitehorse approximately four years ago and had a negative experience. We have been back since and the quality of food is much more flavorful less salty less fatty. The staff was helpful kind. And the ambience was fantastic. They sat us right in front of the fireplace. It was for my birthday dinner and I really enjoyed the entire setting. We were comfortable the entire time and everyone was kind. We have also since been back at a larger family with my in-laws, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, etc. and had a brunch that was fantastic.

English pub atmosphère. Meat loaf shepherds pie etc. Ate near the fireplace with friends. Very cozy. Great spot.

Great place to go to for any occasion. Food is really good & the seating area outside is lovely for the end of spring to summer, highly suggest it. YES, it is pricy but it is totally worth it. It’s a pub but compared to fine dining places I’ve been too. I’d rather spend the money here just as great food.Parking: Wish they had more parking but can park across street.

As usual, the service, food and ambience was excellent. I introduced a friend to the White Horse and we both decided to make reservations for our mutual friends 97th birthday luncheon next month.

It's was recommended to us in our travels to that area.......the restaurant lives up to the hive! So many unique menu items.

Date night with hubby. We’ve been to White horse many times and did not expect tonight to disappoint but it did. We both ordered the Prime rib special. They both came over cooked. The mashed potatoes had no salt. The carrots were cold. There was some weird bread placed in the middle of our plates-did not taste like anything special and would recommend it to be removed from the plate altogether. Service was not good. We sat in the bar area and the waitress barely acknowledged us. All in all, this night was a disappointment.

If you love a relaxing vibe…. we mean like an Irish pub straight out of ACTUAL IRELAND (lol not kidding)… come here! It is such a cool place. Tavern, pub, hole in the wall, historical, with quality food, antique… quality food. We got burgers and salmon. We have an eye for good salmon as we are always on the hunt for fresh seafood. Travel and price are not a question when we are recommended good food we travel and pay! Well very very reasonable pricing with high quality food awaits! Come here when you explore the fun spots of CT… Kent, Litchfield hills, Washington and Warren, this is your stopping point along the way. PS good ski slopes up this way into Cornwall CT so stop here on your way home from the slopes. Delicious food!Vegetarian options: salads, mac and cheese, veggie burgersDietary restrictions: Salads and vegetarian friendlyKid-friendliness: Kid friendly and family friendly

We were a party of 4. We asked about the rotating taps not listed on the menu. Our server went to ask, and came back to tell us that those taps weren't working. One of our party ordered the drunken shrimp. They mentioned the shrimp was overcooked, but the rest of the dish was good. Another in our group had the prime rib with yorkshire pudding, horseradish mashed potatoes, and honey glazed carrots. The yorkshire pudding was not what was expected and more like an overcooked pop over the prime rib was okay but didn't live up to the review clip in the menu. I had the fish and chips and was disappointed with this meal. The batter on the fish varied from cooked till bitter to hardly fried and mushy. I had to remove all the batter so I could eat it.The "chips" were not as described and came as a combination of wide steak fries and sweet potato fries. Had I known this I would have asked for an adjustment or made a different choice. I didn't choose any of the burgers because the menu said that the fries included with the burgers was a combination of the potatoes I mentioned. The atmosphere was loud and our table was next to the back door I guess because I had a cold breeze on my back all night. The dessert menu is extensive and those of us that had it said it was okay, but a bit too rich.Parking: Lot was full when we arrived. There were a lot of empty tables

Wow. What a find. We went after visiting Kent Falls. An authentic English style pub. Everything was great. My wife had the chicken pot pie, and I had a burger. We both loved our food. They have a full bar and English and American beers on draft. Great day to visit the falls and get lunch at the White Horse. We will be back!!!!

Such a pretty, cozy restaurant, sitting by the banks of a stream. My husband and I each had onion soup and it was excellent. The broth was highly flavored but not too salty and it was covered by a cap of melted cheese. I had a White Horse salad, which had among other things, bacon, crisp apple, and walnuts.- just delicious. My husband’s burger was large, juicy, and it came accompanied by thick cut fries, mixed with sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious and the atmosphere is quaint and comfortable.

First time here and it will most likely be my last. We ordered the buffalo chicken spring rolls which were good, drinks were good but dinner was a different story. My husband ordered the meatloaf with the veggies and mashed potatoes - according to him everything was pretty tasteless. I ordered the steak frites MEDIUM however when I first received it, it was well done and chewy. The waitress was kind enough to get another steak cooked but when the second steak came it unfortunately wasn’t any better. No type of seasoning on it - the dish was supposed to come with a bearnaise sauce but it was so dry. The asparagus it came with were super thick, crunchy and dry. The entrees we had were just overall not good. The dim lighting was also putting me to sleep ? this place came highly recommended by my in laws but when my husband and I came to visit we just didn’t have the same experience. The cost of the food did not match the quality for us.

Our waitress was very accommodating and this is not her fault at all. For a restaurant being recommended by so many I was extremely disappointed. I ordered the truffle meatloaf. Not a single taste of truffle was anywhere in the piece of meatloaf unfortunately. My wife’s filet looked like an old piece of meat with a strange color to it. Very disappointing.
