12/22/23 My niece picked up food from this place for us tonight. I love brown stew chicken and the brown stew at this restaurant is THE WORST BROWN STEW CHICKEN I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. If it were only POSSIBLE to give no stars! How are they still open, seriously? And the dumplings, ugh. IDK what that flavor was that I ate tonight, but it is disgusting! I'm scared to eat the beef patty that I got for later. You're better off driving to New Haven, Bridgeport or NY for this cuisine. I usually give a restaurant at least 3 tries, but they're on the 2nd and we're done here -_-. The chicken has this weird tang and seems to be overly tomato based, there is no balance of proper Caribbean flavors for this dish. They need a new recipe...they could probably find a better one in a Facebook vegan group -_-. A large portion of this travesty is $14.99, definitely overpriced for what you actually get. Save your time, money and taste buds, trust me. I can only hope you look at their reviews BEFORE you walk into this trap.
Hubby and I drove from Shelton,CT., we were searching for "ROTI" because we only had it when we shopped in New York. Finally we found it and only had to drive half hour to get this delectable dish thanks it was just what we wanted
The first time we went about 11 a.m. our food was not fully cooked so we threw it in the microwave and it was decent. The portions were healthy for the large dish. Yesterday was my second visit to the Carribean Kitchen and this time I ordered Pepper Steak. There was plenty beans and rice with the steak. There was one slice of Green Pepper and two slices of Red Peppers and barely any Cabbage. I was super disappointed! The food tasted delicious but the portions can stand improvement for the small dish. I also purchased a slice of Chocolate Cake that didn't taste fresh. Try it if you will, seems it may be a little hit or miss spot. I may give it one more try, three strikes are out in a baseball game so it better be a hit should I be I the area and give another try.

I order a Rasta pasta which is $25 before tax ask for extra gravy and was told it’s going be $8 for extra sauce on the side. Not a meal but sauce. Than she didn’t want to customize my order she flat out refuse disregard my allergy. Customer appreciate is not a goal. The restaurant is not welcoming it’s a dry place with a big space and a lot of empty chair I agree with a lot of the other review because for a Caribbean restaurant I was give stale oxtails the staple dish was disappointing. She better off cooking for family and friends but to run a business where you don’t Accommodate you guest who’s supporting you and the business is a no for me Waterbury sucks when it comes to diversity in full the only consistency is the Spanish and Mexican fresh food flavors and good customer service experience every time they. I purchased a j*** chicken dinner with vegetables and peas and rice. The chicken was extremely dry full of bones and burnt . It was cover with j*** sauce so I didn’t recognize it at the time . I was disappointed I called the restaurant and very nicely made my complaint . No compensation was offered the person just stated I inform the chief . I wasted $16.00 and will not return to this restaurant again . I tried to support a local restaurant. Very disappointed in the quality of the food ….
