“After much anticipation, my fiancé and I went to Diorio to celebrate our anniversary several months ago! This spot has been high on my list of restaurants to visit ever since they reopened after COVID and remodeling. The interior was so charming, with a classy vintage feel that I absolutely loved. The menu definitely had some good choices, and while everything we ordered was good, we did agree that we’ve had better. Mostly we thought my fiancé’s ribeye could’ve used more seasoning, but the truffle butter that he had with it definitely added to the flavor. The pasta with my chicken parm was a bit cold, so it must’ve been plated before the chicken. One of the highlights for us though was when the waitress came around with a platter to showcase their desserts - it helped us make our decision on the banana banoffee and chocolate cake. The banoffee was excellent, but the chocolate cake was a little dry. Overall, I do think this is a great option to have in downtown Waterbury, and I would still come back to try some other dishes. We came on a weeknight and were impressed to see that it got pretty busy at peak dinner time!”

“Living so close to Sultan’s and driving by for over a decade, I always wondered what it was like. We finally went for dinner and the belly dancing show, and our expectations were exceeded! Everything was absolutely incredible here - their menu is huge, the staff was knowledgeable about the food and very friendly, and the food came out quickly despite how packed they were with multiple large parties. I thought the lamb kofte was so tender and perfectly cooked. You have to order the mixed cold dips platter too! The belly dancing show was so fun to watch, and we had such a great time that we decided to bring my grandfather here 2 weeks later for his birthday. All we can say is we can’t believe we hadn’t visited sooner! We will definitely be regulars now.”

“Everytime we come back to visit family and near where we used to live we have to swing by Dunya. Always reliable for the best tasting middle eastern food in the area. Dunya fries and meat pies are always the OG order, we also went for the spinach feta phyllo and lamb kebab over rice. Service is great and everyone is just so friendly and willing to explain any of their menu items or even the items within the retail section of the store. It's very cluttered and product is always coming in. Sliding down the aisles for tahini or dates is just part of the fun, looking for spices to bring home or trying something new.”

Luckily, my coworker had a fantastic idea - why not try this place that's conveniently within walking distance from the Waterbury courthouse? To my pleasant surprise, this Via al Paraiso is quite different from the one I usually go to, which actually has the same owner. While they don't offer the same ready-to-serve hot food options here, they do have a lovely menu to choose from. As soon as we walked in, we were quickly shown to our seats. And because I had a big tote filled with files, we were even given a bigger table just as we had requested. For our meal, we both decided to go with the el meson, and we also couldn't resist ordering a refreshing morir soñando, which is a delightful blend of orange juice and evaporated milk. And let me tell you, both dishes were absolutely scrumptious! I'll definitely be returning to this place the next time I have to be at court. It's a fantastic option for a satisfying meal, and I truly enjoyed my experience here.”

They took care of it no problem and even brought him a fresh side so it was nice and hot and waited at the table to make sure it was cooked to his liking. Appetizers are great (love the fried pickles), the complimentary rolls are delightfully delicious, gravy... just yum and sides are tasty. We are very happy customers!”

“Stopped in on our way home from DC and had a fantastic dinner - the snow crab was outstanding. Nice, big pieces of meat that slid right out of the shell with virtually no struggle. Good sized shrimp, and the sausage, corn and potato were great too. Super friendly (and fast) service. What a pleasure it was to take a break from our almost 12 hour drive (thanks to traffic and crappy weather) and spend some time relaxing here with good food and great people. I hope we are able to stop in again the next time we are on the road!”

“I went here for the first time for New Year's Eve food. My regular place was unexpectedly closed so in Googling around I decided on this place. I did let them know I'd be giving them a review afterwards. I do have to say firstly, this place is so absolutely clean and they had a very nice area if you want to dine in. The people who work there are very nice and they had no problem cooking the broccoli longer in the chicken and broccoli because we don't like it too hard. I had a large order and there were no mistakes and it was done while I waited in a timely fashion. The food was delicious. They did not overuse the vegetables so you get less meat. The egg foo young was great! The chow mei fun was very good and actually the reason I chose this place cuz every place doesn't make it. Lo mein excellent and chicken fingers tender. All In all this is my new place to go when I want Chinese food. When you order they ask if it's cash but they definitely do take cards. I wouldn't hesitate to give them a try, just be specific about how you want your order as they were very accommodating. Besides softer broccoli, I wanted only mushrooms in my egg foo young and they did it no problem, it cost $1 more but that's fine. Again. It's a great and clean place for take out or eat in. I used to pass by the chicken every time I got gas for a couple year, and then one time I overheard another customer raving about the chicken, so I tried a piece. Then I bought a meal to take home. Now I rave. It's always moist, juicy, flavorful, Crispy on the outside and so tasty. They keep it fresh and have a great line-up of sides. Can't be beaten.”

“I've heard really good things about this place for many years and have always wanted to go, but just never had the chance, until recently! I went around lunch time on a Tuesday and they weren't very busy, so I was able to order pretty quickly. I only speak English, but I've a "brown skin" person, so Spanish people always want to speak Spanish to me first, but when I replied in English, that wasn't a problem - I bring that up, because normally at authentic Mexican taquerías this normally is an issue.They make a large offer of proteins in any style of serving you want (Example: You can get Pollo in a taco, gordita, sopes, tortas, etc), so I got a pollo and an asada. They have a big bin of pico to scoop out once you get your food and that had the best, freshest flavor! Their green and red sauces were both very nicely done and both were spicy, with the red being very hot, but tasty. The pollo was excellent - Lots of great flavor, quite possibly one of the best pollo tacos I've had! The asada was dry and not flavored very well. The fresh lime I squeezed on top really helped to light it up, but it still needed more help, so I used lots of salsa.Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here. I can see why they're rated so high, definitely worth the hype!”

Our food took probably 20 min which wasn’t bad. It was very tasty and I loved the Salsa Bar!!! What a great idea and allowed the opportunity to try so many flavors! My only comment would be to lighten up on the cilantro. There was an extreme amount of cilantro on my tacos. One taco has enough cilantro for like 5 tacos worth. I would definitely go back and try more items. We enjoyed everything we ordered. Oh, and the Jamaica juice was ?? perfection”

(Family member)The tone and the expletive words that came out of her mouth was very impolite. So I yelled great job staff you guys are doing the best you can. So the lady left without her food. Today 01/05 I walk in and here is the same lady with her daughter asking them for free food bc she left yesterday bc she had to go to work and continued to say I was the one that made her leave and bc the food took some time! I literally laughed and couldn’t believe this woman literally blamed a total stranger that applauded the staff as to why she left. Her and her daughter began to yell at me, curse, and threaten me. It’s all on Dunkin’ Donuts camera and I can play a video on my phone about how nasty these individuals were but it’s very embarrassing. I called corporate, filed a police report as well. Nasty people don’t need to hurt in any way people trying their best to service you!”

The server made the coffees and put them on the counter for us. There were several tables inside to sit at & since I was on a date we decided to hang out inside Dunkin for a bit. It was quiet which was nice (it was around 6:30pm-7pm on a Friday)The only negative thing I can say is that all the tables inside were dirty. It looked like there were only 2 workers and I don't recall if this had a drive-thru but I know Dunkin employees have long lists of duties they need to address while taking and making customers orders so it's possible they just didn't get the chance to address the tables during my time there.Parking: Parking right in front of entrance to Dunkin and goes the length of the Plaza it is part of.Kid-friendliness: What kid doesn't love donuts!?”

“What refreshing little neighborhood cafe! It's nothing fancy and exactly what you want a free morning close to home. I didn't delve into the menu but trusted a friend who goes often and I wasn't disappointed! We shared the breakfast charcuterie board featuring Pancakes, waffles, bacon, sausage, Italian smoked sausage, cheese, tater tots and fried eggs. Add a couple of Americanos and we were set for a couple hours of great food and conversation. Have it there or get something to go and you'll get your day started right.”

“I work nearby and I’m not sure why it took me so long to check this place out. First off, their coffee/lattes are fantastic, some of, if not the best I’ve had in the city. They have many flavors and their specialty lattes are all very good. The food is also fantastic. Fresh and reasonably priced. I’m not sure if they bake their bread in house but it’s very soft and delicious, it tastes freshly baked. I haven’t had any of their bakery items yet but I imagine they’re also great. I highly recommend this place for coffee/breakfast. It’s roomy with enough seats to relax and get some work done if you need a place to sit too. The staff is very friendly as well. “We were traveling through the arena on Hwy 84 at 6 am and wanted coffee. Caffe Italia was the only place open so we drove into Waterbury. Winding our way there we almost decided to turn around and then…there it was. This was like walking into a little Italian neighborhood hangout….with EXCELLENT espresso! At 6 am there was a group of local Italians, reading papers, playing cards and generally sharing the days news. It felt like being at home with family. Great atmosphere! I came today and as I pulled in, the gentleman working was locking the door. Through my windshield I asked if he was closed and he waved me to come inside. I still remember being in elementary school and coming in with my dad to see their son playing games in the back, and my dad always was excited when he heard about their daughter going to college and how everyone was doing. It's 3 blocks up the road from a better known Dominican restaurant, La Cazuela. We liked El Encanto more for several reasons. First, it's in a quiet residential area, unlike the noisy intersection where La Cazuela is, located next to several bars. Second, the price is better than La Cazuela for the same type and quality of food. Third, the food tastes better. Our favorites are the beans-&-rice, the beef stew, roasted chicken, and the beef/chicken patties.”

I'm originally from New Orleans and we LOVE flavorful food but I've never been too big into Jamaican dishes. However, I am so glad I decided to try this place. I got the j*** chicken small platter with rice and peas, honey glazed chicken kabobs, fried chicken and bar-b-fry chicken (they had run out of wings for the day so they gladly substituted 2 other fried chicken dishes for me)... all I have to saw is WOW. Every single piece of chicken was cooked perfectly tender and flavorful. Their food is FRESH and these people know how to cook! I know where to go now when I'm craving fried chicken.Do not walk, but run to Chew2Live. “I got takeout (curbside order). Super easy to order online and although I waited closer to 40 minutes rather than the 25 minute estimate, I knew it would be busy on a Saturday night so I didn’t mind. The gentleman that came outside with my order had a big smile on his face and was so friendly, it made me that much more happy about my decision to order from them and just put me in a good mood. The food was still hot when I got home and everything was delicious! I had the honey chipotle chicken crispers with Texas fries and nothing was soggy by the time we got home (approximately ten minutes later), chicken was crispy and the honey chipotle sauce is incredible! The fries were awesome.. as usual and still had life to them without getting soggy in the package thanks to the foil the kitchen used to separate the fries from the saucey chicken. “Living so close to Sultan’s and driving by for over a decade, I always wondered what it was like. We finally went for dinner and the belly dancing show, and our expectations were exceeded! Everything was absolutely incredible here - their menu is huge, the staff was knowledgeable about the food and very friendly, and the food came out quickly despite how packed they were with multiple large parties. I thought the lamb kofte was so tender and perfectly cooked. You have to order the mixed cold dips platter too! The belly dancing show was so fun to watch, and we had such a great time that we decided to bring my grandfather here 2 weeks later for his birthday. All we can say is we can’t believe we hadn’t visited sooner! We will definitely be regulars now.”
