“I work nearby and I’m not sure why it took me so long to check this place out. First off, their coffee/lattes are fantastic, some of, if not the best I’ve had in the city. They have many flavors and their specialty lattes are all very good. The food is also fantastic. Fresh and reasonably priced. I’m not sure if they bake their bread in house but it’s very soft and delicious, it tastes freshly baked. I haven’t had any of their bakery items yet but I imagine they’re also great. I highly recommend this place for coffee/breakfast. It’s roomy with enough seats to relax and get some work done if you need a place to sit too. The staff is very friendly as well. A nice little downtown gem.“
“We were traveling through the arena on Hwy 84 at 6 am and wanted coffee. Caffe Italia was the only place open so we drove into Waterbury. Winding our way there we almost decided to turn around and then…there it was. This was like walking into a little Italian neighborhood hangout….with EXCELLENT espresso! At 6 am there was a group of local Italians, reading papers, playing cards and generally sharing the days news. It felt like being at home with family. Great atmosphere! Lots of specialty Italian food, cheeses etc. Super nice guy who made our espresso. We would definitely stop in again for more!“
“This was my favorite study spot in college, now I come here to read before my appointments in Waterbury. I love their specialty drinks, I usually pick a drink from their seasonal favorites when I'm here. They also have a really good chicken sandwich that I'll get if I'm here around lunch time. Staff is always so nice and quick. I feel comfortable hanging out here. The only issue was I noticed a lot of their seating has the pleather torn apart so badly you can't sit on it comfortably. The benefit of this place was their comfy chairs, so hopefully they get those replaced soon!“
“Speak Easy is a local point of interest to stop by and say hello to friends. The personnel working there are quick with service, even when the tables inside and out are full. You can call it the Cheers of Waterbury, because we are not in Boston.“
“I actually haven't been there but my friend had her purse stolen and her license somehow ended up there. A gentleman, Dave, was sweet enough to mail it to her. Speaks volumes of the wonderful people at this establishment! Heather says thank you so much!“
“The food was good and at a decent price. I had la bandeja paisa. It was good. But it was my fist time there so can't say much about the other food. But the beer and drinks prices are overpriced. They charge you 6 dollars for a michelob ultra. I think it's way to much“
“Looking for a great night life scene? A good place in your modern hood? Saturday nights are the best nights especially if you love to sing! They serve food, have a patio for smokers, and pool tables for the ballers, Play requested music also. See you there! Oh and no cover charge! ?“
“What refreshing little neighborhood cafe! It's nothing fancy and exactly what you want a free morning close to home. I didn't delve into the menu but trusted a friend who goes often and I wasn't disappointed! We shared the breakfast charcuterie board featuring Pancakes, waffles, bacon, sausage, Italian smoked sausage, cheese, tater tots and fried eggs. Add a couple of Americanos and we were set for a couple hours of great food and conversation. Have it there or get something to go and you'll get your day started right.“
