There were four of us traveling together and staying at the adjacent hotel. The front desk clerk recommended this restaurant so we gave it a try. Everyone truly enjoyed their meal and our server Tara (sp?) was wonderful. I had the chicken parm and it was excellent. My wife had the.Brussel Sprout appetizer and loved it. I forget what our friends ordered but they both enjoyed what they ate.
The drinks, food and atmosphere is what makes it special. A little pricey so we save it just for special occasions.
My dinner could've ended nicely but I wasn't happy that the restaurant didn't take care of anything on the bill after that fact we had hair in our appetizer special.
As always, service, food, ambience exceptional They treat their customers as special which in today's environment is really nice and appreciated
We were a party of 5 so we got to sample the menu pretty broadly. From appetizers through the entrees and to desserts everything was well prepared and tasty. Service was excellent; our waiter was knowledgeable, friendly and not intrusive. Wine list was not large but had good offerings at several price points. Physical environment of the restaurant itself was quite pleasant. An older building on the fringe of Waterbury's downtown. Sadly that downtown has seen better days. Within, the restaurant is extremely pleasant. High tin ceilings; dark wood; interesting chandeliers. A pleasant environment for dining. Overall, a very nice dining experience. All 5 of us agreed we would happily return.
They are always spot on. Service is impeccable, food is always excellent and I especially love the Veal Diorio
Excellent food, service, and ambience. Our server Ivy was very attentive and all courses came out with perfect timing.
Went here for mother's day. We had a larger party and they accommodated us with great service. They offered the full menu plus specials. Carpaccio and tuna tartare were great apps. I had the chicken scarpriello. It was awesome. Others had the swordfish special, linguini with clams, shrimp scampi, chicken parm. and callops risotto. We all ate our dinner and had great desserts too. This is a great Waterbury iconic restaurant.
Excellent experience! Our waiter was attentive and quick with service and our meals were perfect!
The food wasn't bad. I expected a larger portion based on the price point or at least a side with the main dish(salad/soup) . Sides were a la carte. It was pretty loud for such a small space. Not very cozy - I felt closed off from the older romantic space that drew me in on their website. I made a reservation almost two weeks in advance and got shoved next to a wall in the boring white room. I specified that it was for our wedding anniversary which was disappointing. Would I go back ? I don't think so.

Food is exceptional. The ambiance is warm and comforting. The wait staff are pleasant and helpful. Delicious bolognese and veal diorio
Traveled from Ohio over the weekend to celebrate a 16th Birthday and Diorio's was the perfect. The ambiance was on par and the food was incredible. This is a must stop in future travels.
We have a wonderful experience every time, from when we walk in , we had a wonderful server Maureen. My favorite restaurant by far.
We've wanted to try this place out for years. Finally did it on a special occasion. The place is nice inside, reminds us of an older style NY type bistro. The food was good, not exceptional. Portions were moderate. Very disappointing to have 2 slices of bread brought to table as part of dinner. Frankly, I would be embarrassed to do something like that at a dinner. Considering a price tag of close to $300 for 2 of us (Including drinks wine and martinis), 2 appetizers, main courses, 2 deserts with coffee and sambuca. Just seemed very steep for my tastes considering the food was simply "good". For that price, it should have been exceptional. May consider going again for another special occasion.
Our experience at Diorio's was great from beginning to end. The food and wine were excellent, with very attentive; yet not overbearing, service. A very pleasant experience throughout.
