We went out for a quiet dinner with our daughter and had a very nice dinner at Diorio's in Waterbury, ct. the restaurant has been around for many years and truly is a landmark in the center of the city. In our experience we always look forward to dinner at Diorio's. The atmosphere with old fashioned dining booths and impressive bar. The restaurant experience was very good as always and undoubtably return with our family.

Our waiter, JT was wonderful. He was very attentive and understood our orders which he took note of and sent to the chef. Unfortunatley, two of the dinners were not cooked how they were ordered. The chicken and shrimp were undercooked, but we did not tell our waiter, which was our mistake. We later told JT that we were not happy with them, and he told us that we should have let him know so that it could have been corrected. I guess we have this thing about not returning food...our fault. We did question why these two dishes were not prepared how we requested them to be. A restaurant like Diorio's has been around for a long time, so one would think that the chefs would be more aware and attentive even if it is a busy night. We're thinking about giving it a second chance and hopefully our meals will be cooked the way we would like.

Waitress was outstanding. She noticed one of the appetizer plates was a little dirty and immediately swapped it out without us asking. Food portions were of Italian style and left satisfied. Gemeli and sausage was solid. The pasta with clams was also very good and the clams were cleaned well. Host and waitress made us felt welcome. Thank you for the wonderful meal!
