Rare five stars!
I just love this place. I first discovered them when my dad and I went to the brewery in New haven and has since been hooked! The last few i went to just weren't great and I thought maybe I wasn't a barbecue fan. The interior is cozy and when it isn't cold out, sitting outside is nice too. Doesn't make you feel like youre in a crumbling wasteland like the rest of waterbury. I especially enjoy the cornhole game they have so you can play while you wait or just relax.
I have a few favorites here such as the brisket burgers, the beef tostadas, and a lot of the specials just to name a few. Very few restaurants get creative and think out of the box and constantly slaps! Ive yet to try something i didn't like. Owners and staff are always great!
I eat here on Sundays before my skating session at rollermagic (roller rink food is gross and I eat before I go).
But if I had anything to give a critique on its the pricing and portions ratio. Sometimes an item has a big ticket price and the portions do not justify it. For example the tostadas being $15 for just two. While I loved them, I wished they were larger (and I should have ordered seconds!) It's a small complaint.
But this is my go-to every time I go to waterbury. I tell everyone about this place. Always worth the sometimes difficult drive from Danbury. I wish I could put a forcefield around it 😂

Was looking for a good BBQ place to take my mom for her birthday and this place definitely met all our expectations. We got the regular and baby back ribs, brisket, honey cornbread, bacon wrapped stuffed jalapeños, coleslaw, greens, and of course, burnt ends, which were definitely the highlight of the meal!
The pricing isn't exactly cheap, but it's worth every penny and not much different from other BBQ spots. The actual indoor seating area is pretty small but nicely put together, and there is plenty of outdoor seating if you're into that.
The food was all perfectly cooked and fell right off the bone. Definitely will be back and if you're on the fence, just try it out! You can thank me later.

Stopped by here on a road trip and it was amazing! Some of the best smoked wings I've ever had! Definitely try it if you're a wing person!

Originally from Texas and miss good BBQ. This is best we’ve found in CT. The brisket was some of the best I’ve ever eaten. So tender and juicy. We’ll be back!

⭐ Honest Review: Hindsight Barbecue
I stopped by this barbecue spot recently, and here’s my honest take on what I tried 👇🏽
• 🥔 Potato Salad – The presentation looked amazing, but the flavor was extremely bland. I’d give it a 1/10.
• 🧀 Macaroni & Cheese – It was okay. Not the best, not the worst — I’d rate it a 3/10.
• 🌭 Sausage – Pretty average overall. I’d give this a 3/10 as well.
• 🥩 Brisket – Flavor was decent, and the portion size was generous. However, mine had a lot of fat, so I’d rate it a 5/10.
• 🍖 Ribs (Baby Back) – Taste-wise, I’d give them a 6/10, but they were extremely thin — probably the thinnest ribs I’ve ever had. Portion size was surprisingly small compared to the brisket.
On the bright side, the cook was super friendly (wish I caught his name!) and really made the experience enjoyable. Customer service 10/10 was great, and that goes a long way. 👏🏽
Overall, it was a mixed experience — good presentation and service, but some of the dishes lacked flavor or consistency.
Great bbq. We shared baby back ribs, burnt ends mac & cheese, turkey breast, and a brisket empenada. All great, as were the beans and slaw.

First time at South Farms, food was phenomenal! And the man behind the glass was great. Would highly recommend. Had the burnt end and wings, fire! Don’t miss out
The meat is a 10/10 and you have to get their corn, beans, and corn bread when you are there. so delicious!

This place is very cute.. You almost forget you’re in Waterbury. Not too impressed with the service. My husband ordered the baby back ribs, which were 19.99. You’re not getting a lot of portion for that price…. He ordered the brussels sprouts that were 8.99… And that was a very small portion. I ordered the pulled Chicken platter with mac & cheese. The chicken was cold and had to be sent back to be reheated, although it was very tasty… The problem is The portion is too small for what you’re paying… overall way, overpriced … small portions.
