Aye t̾e̾r̾p̾y̾fam ya guy was cruising thru the brass city n slid up on La Tav for a late lunch....so how did it go?
Overall: the food & service saved this experience from being a downer.
Got a meatball panini (they're claim to fame balls) and the grinder was a winner, great sauce and killer meatballs that were seasoned right w/that perfect texture.
Got a chicken special that was really good too!
Pros: Legit well made italian dishes w/lots of flavor. Had a great waiter on the day shift who was super attentive.
Cons: Street parking is tricky (old italian neighborhood, so narrow roads)
Smell....I dnt know if the bathroom septic had an issue or what was going on but theres a strange funk floatin around.
Might come back still, the food was that good.

People have been parking their cars on the corners for years.
They park in the fire lanes and are in the 25 ft from the corner fire lanes.
No one can see where they're going when they pull out.
I've almost been into so many accidents since I've moved on wilkenda ave that I'm moving out.
I tried to talk to the owners and they advised me to move so I am.
They also said why don't u just pull onto highland on a different street?
Because I live on wilkenda and shouldn't have to reroute my coarse because people don't want to park in a real parking spot.
When an accident does happen since no one can see where there going it's gonna be on them
Bartender was very rude blonde woman named sue will not go back. I’m a bartender would never talk to someone like that

I think it’s hilarious this place is rated so well since it gave me the worst food poisoning of my entire life. About a year ago my sister and I went here for lunch and to see if it was a good place for a rehearsal dinner for her wedding. Initially I really liked the restaurant. We ordered a chopped salad, a soup, rice balls, and a salmon meal. There were things floating in my water which I never said anything about I figured it was lemon or soap residue. My sister went to the bathroom and their sinks were not working and she was unable to wash her hands or flush the toilet. That night at 1 am I woke up throwing up for hours. I had never been so sick in my entire life. My sisters bridal shower was the following day and I texted her that I would not be able to attended because of how sick I was. An hour later around 2:30 in the morning she called me to tell me she was also sick. My sister missed her own bridal shower because she had to go to the hospital because of how sick she was. Clearly something happened there to make us sick. I am not sure if it was cross contamination because the sinks were not working or the food or whatever was in the water. I tried to contact the manager and it took him a week to call me back I tried to contact him multiple times. When he finally returned my call he insisted it wasn’t their food and offered a gift card. How funny why would I ever want to eat there again with how sick it made my sister and I? He also said that we must have had some “weird flu”. My sister and I do not live together and I had not seen her for 2 weeks prior. The only thing we did that day was eat at this restaurant and parted ways after. We both woke up around the same time in the middle of the night sicker than ever before. They did refund the meal but I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone or ever be coming back here. Beware eating here.

My family of five, 3 adults and 2 children had a great experience and wonderful meal. We started with antipasto platter and fried chickpeas fries. The entrees we order were veal osso bucco with ravioli, pork osso bucco with gnocchi, pasta with broccoli rabe and sausage , chicken cutlet with spaghetti and grilled chicken with olives and escarole on pasta and one brick chicken! The food was delicious and we enjoyed tiramisu for dessert. Celebrating a special birthday! Parking is on the street in front or side street. The wait staff were so attentive and friendly! Will definitely go back!

we hired La Tavola pizza truck for our backyard wedding and it far exceeded any expectations we had for a pizza truck! Not only did they come right on time, they showed up in the coolest vehicle ever.. an old fire truck decked out with music, an awning, a movie playing on 3 screens, colored lights, and smiles on their faces! Pizzas were served non stop and being eaten faster than they can cook! Everyone loved the pizza, the dough was incredible with that classic wood fire char and flavor. They customized pizzas for people when they asked without hesitation! We had a gluten free guest and they brought gluten free dough just for her. and she told me, not only was that the best gluten free pizza she’s ever had but, the best pizza she’s ever had! They were so gracious they even gave her the leftover gluten free dough!! The espresso and gelato for dessert was an amazing added bonus. They made our backyard wedding the perfect day, I would recommend hiring them for any occasion; it will elevate your party to the max!
Vegetarian options: Made pizzas specifically for vegetarian guest
Dietary restrictions: Gluten free dough

The food was decent but very bland. A touch of seasoning would make a difference. The staff was a bit slow in responding to request that were small. Atmosphere was great. We enjoyed dinner.

I really enjoyed my first visit to La Tovala. Parking on the street was a little tough even at lunch on Saturday. There is a really cool vibe with the bar, artwork, glass floor displaying the wine cellar, etc. Food was exceptional. I enjoyed chicken fra diablo with mash potatoes and broccoli rabe. I definitely will go again to try other dishes.
