I was so excited when I saw that The Dog House Eatery was open again for the season! I live nearby and was always curious to visit, but the hours are pretty much only during the weekdays when I’m at work- but on a day off, I had the chance to stop by! The owner, Dawn, uses Hummel hot dogs, which are already my favorite kind. The way she makes these reminds me so much of Blackie’s! It had the perfect snap and was SO good!! She makes great chili too. Definitely an underrated, hidden gem here!

I stopped here today and had one of Dawn's famous chili dogs. Omg was it delicious!!! An order of extra crispy fries and a bottle of water to go with it. I nestled myself on one of their super clean picnic tables that had an umbrella and wah-lah I was good to go. I highly recommend the DOG HOUSE EATERY

I have never been to here. I am not planning on going and I never will, but there's no place I rather go than The Dog House Eatery in Waterbury, Connecticut. The other reviews say the chili dog is good, so i lice it. I would eat it every dqy

First time hubby and I ate here. Chili hotdogs absolutely delicious. Lots of flavor and chili warm enough to warm your gums down to the belly. Hotdogs so tasty and cooked to perfection. Bun extremely soft and fresh.The fried dough extremely tasty and cooked to perfection. We will be returning. I highly recommend trying this place if you have not already.
Not sure if it was a bad day, but it’s DO NOT RETURN on my list of places to eat. The oil seem like it was old and reused, the fries had that oil went rancid flavor…. That makes your stomach sick… the dogs are nothing to write home about the onion rings had promise but they were deep fried in that rancid oil rendering them inedible. Never will I go there again and when I pass by it will always be a reminder that sometimes McDs may be a better choice.

Omg!! I was out doing errands and got a bit hungry and didn’t know where to go when it hit me… go see Dawn and grab something HOT to eat.. I’m on vacation and this was the best idea I’ve had all week… food was Great as always.. first time here since she moved from Meriden Rd.. She’s located on Baldwin Street in the VFW parking lot so please come and eat local. I figured if I’m going to go to McDonald’s and spend all that money on crap food that’s always cold I may as well come here cause the food is 1000x better and FRESH COOKED!!!

It was my first time there but wont be my last! I had the famous chili dog. Wow. Amazing depths of flavor that hit the right parts of your throat. Unbelievably moist without the bun falling apart. Friendly service too. Cant wait to go again! Yum
