The Local Sixty-Three Reviews
Outstanding restaurant! (and we do a lot of our dining in NYC!) Local 63 is an oasis in Watertown, CT in a variety of ways. The food is creative (even when the dish SOUNDS traditional). The chicken fried steak (hard to even find in New England) is outstanding. The salads were awesome: perfectly dressed with great crunch and freshness. The Local Sixty-Three offers delicious food with excellent vegetarian options and a great variety of dishes. Standout items include the salmon bites, lamb melt dip, French onion soup, and charcuterie board. The restaurant has a cozy and fun atmosphere, with a rustic yet modern vibe that features old black and white pictures of main street. The friendly staff creates a welcoming environment and is attentive without being intrusive. They provide high chairs and outdoor seating, making it a kid-friendly spot that can also be a great choice for a date night.
Customers have praised the drinks, service, and the use of locally sourced ingredients. The burger on a gluten-free bun and the pan-seared salmon have been particularly well-received. The menu includes ever-changing vegan options, all of which are fantastic, and the food is always flavorful with fresh local ingredients. One customer described their experience after a long day of sports, enjoying thick brisket on creamy mac and cheese with a side of buttery corn bread—calling it perfection. The atmosphere, combined with quick service, makes every visit enjoyable, and every crumb supports local businesses. Despite being a relatively new spot, its classic appeal and extraordinary dishes have quickly made it a favorite among locals.
